I got mine during the Finally Friday event. I can't remember if I 'found' it, as in it said "Major Payne has found: Soldier's Medal" or whatever. I think it was just in my backpack when I got on.

Apparently, if you were using the idling program when you received it, it get passed as an "unhandled exception" and you can never get it again.

EDIT: I'm wrong, the idling program handles the medal like a hat. The programmer said so himself. I have no idea why mine never arrived.

Yeah, I expected something like that to happen so I avoided idling. I guess my paranoia saved my medal.

I think valve is forgetting about the normal players. I don't have the time to play until the random drops give me the weapons (I still don't have dead ringer or cloak and dagger), I really don't have the time to get the hats, and I don't spend tons of time online looking for hidden webpages.

I got 2 medals. I found one via drop system this morning within couple minutes of play. The one obtained from the "first 11,111" people doesn't appear in your backpack, but the one found by drop system is in it.

Seriously? I signed up for mine. Then later when I was ingame and died, it showed up just like every other item does. I don't have two, but only one medal.

If you have two, we need a screenshot of the Soldier load out page showing two available. No pics of the backpack.

I just checked. I let my hopes up too high..It showed up in my backpack this morning and said "Kunai has found the Gentle Manne's medal" or something..And I checked it was in my backpack. I never checked my "Misc" section until now. Weird, because I got the medal a day after the 11,111 people event thing.

I'm going to continue to be depressed and cancel out everybody's theories by saying I signed up for my medal, and I still didn't receive it people got their medals at different times once they released it, and the backpack bugs really screwed it up for some people, so you may get yours in a different manner. Some see it in their backpack, some don't. Personally, I don't see it either way.

Is there a way to equip certain items via console?

There used to be, but they removed that command a few updates ago. It was a very useful way to switch between items without going into the dumb load out menu.
