the status of eGO

Hi guys, it is FaTtY-mIc-FaT, some of you might remember me from dod, but i mostly play in tf2 and css now.

now, what i want to bring up today, is the status of eGO. all in all, i say we are doing very good. they are always sending john T and the eGO crew stuff to give away. they are also getting very good sponsors, and i am sure i have read in some of the text chats in game that yahoo has given them money. eGO has come a long way.

but what i want to bring up is, the status of the eGO community. every day we are getting more and more people into the community, it is growing bigger and bigger each day. but what i am most concern about, is the people. for the past few weeks now, i have been doing research on the severs i play on. and i have notice, that there has been a increase in how the members and pubs treat each other.

with each passing day, i see e's being disrespectful to other members and pubbers alike. i have recently gone to the dod severs using a friends account, and i have seen the behavior there is also becoming bad. rather the admins miss it or do not care, i do not know. but tf2 is also becoming a problem. but the biggest problems will always be over in css.

i want to speak to the community right now, and i hope that you guys take the time to read this.

this is to you e's, you are old and new to the community. your are not immune to the rules that eGO have set up. in fact, we deal out harsher punishment to you e's because you should already know the rules. many of you e's come join us for the admins, but the fact is, if you do not know the rules, you have no hope of getting your G, much less the O. you need to take 10 to 15 mins out to read the rules. we have separate in different areas. like css, if you want to play jail sever, you must read the rules over in css div.

but the fact is, the major rules that you agreed upon when joining, goes division wide. no matter what game your in, what sever, you have to follow them. another factor i want to bring up, some of you e's are very disrespectful to others. if you want to stay here, you need to start showing more respect to other community members and pubbers alike. it is especially important that you show respect to eG, eGO, and the leaders of this community. in this stage, this is where you learn. watch what we do, listen to what we say, you must live and learn, that is how you grow. this is for both in the gaming community, and also in reality. if you do not show any respect to others, do not hope to get any in return.

and also, i have no idea how many people have stressed this, do not argue with us in public in the severs or in vent. you can contact us via in game chat, steam friends chat, or pm us through forums. if you have problems with admins, do not argue with them, contact them privately or one of the divisions leaders. no need to escalate what ever the admin did to you in public.

this is to eG's. this is not your final stepping stone. just because you have admin, does not mean you can bend the rules. they can take it away as fast as they gave it to you. always remember that. some of you that have been promoted, know the meaning of showing respect to others, continue from there and do not be afraid to ask eGO's about anything.

to eGO's. let the eG's admin, we are the teachers, and the e's and eG's are the students. lead by example and words. give them gentle pushes, when people break rules, if you see an eG ask in admin chat, "does anyone want to take this?" and also, because you have a O, does not mean you should show less respect to the newer community members. most if not all of you know this, and that is why you have your O.

that is all i want to say. because what i have seen in the past few weeks, really disappoint me. i hope we can all work together, and keep this a place punk free always.

I am still fairly new to Day of Defeat and to EdgeGamers. I myself have noticed this a bit too inside of some of the servers. Today too, a couple of teenagers that had the [Beer - Count] tag just a little while ago in one of the servers were being disrespectful with inappropriate names, yelling at the admins and bad language.

I mean it doesn't really matter if they are part of the clan or not, it is common sense. I was on the CSS server too the other day and people were complaining and yelling at each other and being racist, but that is and will always be Counter Strike for ya.

I have seen so much of this fatty. I thank you for pointing it out. Please read the rules and respect everyone. Even if people are mere pubs and e's. We all want to be treated like equals and no matter what power you have your not above the law. And again thank you fatty.

I would like to add that E's should leave the admining to the Gs and Os.

If there's Gs in the server, leaving the admining to them means alot to those guys, they are working their way to the shiny O and taking care of the punks helps them. Also they can do something to the punks, unlike Es like me who can only say "Please stop".

I'm pretty sure thats a rule too.

Well said, being an =(e)= myself, I do know the rules. But the problem I'm seeing a lot these days are in the CS:S division. I haven't been seeing many admins on at all. I see a few O's and that's about it. Great post thought Fatty.

well, i usually have work, and the most i can put into gaming, is around 1 to 2 hours each night, and maybe a couple on sundays and mondays.

and also, im not saying we shouldnt take the lead role as admins on the severs. im just saying, we should give the eG's the chance to experience first hand on how to be admins. because if us O's always take the lead, how will eG's make mistakes? we need them to make mistakes, not to make them look bad, but for us O's to show them the correct way of doing things. some eG's usually go to admin school, but for those who havent, we need to teach them.

as eGO's, we are the e's and eG's mentor, how can we teach if we are not allowing them take any actions? when im on css, i always joke around, but little do they know, that the eG's there are learning. i make the environment surrounding them comfortable, so they have no doubt or trouble when they admin. they are not afraid to ask me questions on "if this is allowed" or "is that ok?". they are also not afraid to take the first step when someone breaks the rules.

again, im not saying we shouldnt admin, but we should allow the eG's admin more to gain first hand experience, and also to learn from mistakes.

I play the Css servers because they are in my opinion the worst when it comes to pubs causing trouble...99% of my bans are from Css and most of them could real easily have been avoided but some people are just stubborn and there is not much we can do about it but to get rid of them
