District 9

Just got back from watching it
Absolutely AMAZING!!!!

walked in the theater with certain expectations because of all the hype i heard, and it didn't disappoint
 
Saw it.
Loved it.
Saw it again with my wife.
She loved it.


I admit I wasn't as into the hype around it as most people (The trailer interested me but at the same time repelled me, I'm not into the guerilla camera angles at all, and the trailer looked like it was going to be one of those crappy first person movies like Cloverfield. Thank god that wasn't true.) but maybe that made it all the sweeter that it ended up being one of the best movies I've seen in cinemas recently. I'd do a full review, but I don't think it'd do the film justice, plus it'd be hard for me to do away with spoilers :P Just see it.
 
alright for all the people that say it doesnt look good and for the haters lol its a good movie
i hated this movie when i saw the preview but when i saw the movie i was with my mouth open the whole time very suspenseful i could go on and write an essay on this movie and this movie brings in things that are going on in the world today i think there was a message here but over all one of the greatest movies yet
 
I loved the movie, for reasons others stated.

My g/f and her girl friend that came with us, not so much... half way through the movie they go, "What is this even about". So, I shut them up and informed them, I'm enjoying it so quiet plz. k thanks :)

I think it's great!
 
Just saw it tonight. I've been a fan of Neill Blomkamp for years, but he just proved how awesome he really is!
 
I am a HARSH movie critic. I have a severe hatred for a lot of movies most people think are fantastic.

But this, was a GOOD movie. Everything about it, was good.

I'm begging for a sequel.

I dont know, I feel like a sequel may cheapen this one or ruin it.

Yes I know this is not the most amazing movie around. But damn! it was very very good.

You kind of have a story that begins as a social commentary, then evolves more into a sci fi action movie

But what set this movie apart for me was that is was very original, sure we have all seen alien movies, but things are not laid out exactly the same in this one, and certain roles are reversed. Not to mention the fact that this movie felt very real, everything was done in such a way that you really do suspend your disbelief and almost forget that you are watching a movie.

I came out of this movie and all I could say was, wow. It may not be the best movie ever, but it was different a did a lot of things right to appeal to more than just the usual hardcore scifi fans. It will not appeal to everyone, but damn, if you want to see something different than the usual hollywood blockbuster sequels, this not only fits that bill, but does it extremely well.

This really is a movie worth going to see, I highly highly recommend it.
 
Just saw it yesterday. It was good. I watched the trailer last month and decided that I would go see it. Since then I have not read any reviews, thoughts, comments that others have made about D-9. I like to go to a movie without any info other than the trailer.

The documentary style was a good change. I was slightly annoyed at his accent at first, but then I quit paying attention to it. The whole set up for the action part of the D-9 was well done. I liked the original style of the aliens. (I hate aliens that are humanoid.) While not up to par with the movie series "Alien", D-9 is a very good movie in the alien genre.
 
I'm not reading all that. but i did just get back from the movies.
and it was so freaking amazing. i rarely yell out during movies. but i did several times in this movie

its real enough to be real.
period.

my wife thought it was badass too
 
This is probably the best movie i have seen in a LONG LONG time. I recommend it to anyone even if you dont like sci-fi
