If you like ANYTHING sci-fi or ANYTHING related to Half-Life, Star Wars, Star Trek ANYTHING. You will LOVE THIS movie. This is a REALISTIC sci-fi movie that is amazing in every way, some points in the movie you feel like your watching CNN really.

That sounds great! I saw the trailer for it and I was like I have to watch it. Im going to go see soon with my friend
 
It looks really fake and really cheesy, and I LOVE HL, Star Wars, Independence Day, and Battlestar Galactica.
 
You can't even say that. It just doesn't work.

District 9 is raw, and feels just so real. Star Wars, Independence Day etc could never hope to top the raw feel that D9 has.

I was blown away.
There is SOOooooooo much to this movie. Its insanely awesome, full of intense action, a really sort of passoniate story, just overall its amazing.

The movie was so good it made my list of top 5 best movies ever. It was so amazing words could not describe it.

Fanboy run on sentience win.
 
Yeah the first half was kind of slow imo but the 2nd half made up for it. :cool:
 
Let me write this in two parts.

Part 1: The movie itself, in terms of the CG.

All I have to say is, for making the aliens look real, feel real, and overall seem like they are believable, the realism is unbelievable. The alien weapons, when we first got to see them, looked immensely cool, and later, were awesome.

Part 2: Story.

From what I saw of the previews, and of the websites dedicated to this, I was extremely excited to come out and watch this riveting story about aliens that is unlike many other sci-fi movies. I anticipated it so much, I made a like-titled post 2 weeks ago stating my excitement and asking if anyone else was hyped. The movie started quite well, but when it turned into an immense gore/swear-fest, I felt like it wasn't the movie I paid to watch. Believe me, I can watch all this extreme gore, but considering the story that I wanted to see, it was excessive and unnecessary.

Biggest over-hype letdown of the summer. :facewall:
 
Easily the best movie I have seen this year. I made a point of avoiding all press about District 9 so that i could go in fresh with no preconceived notions or ideas and I'm glad I did. Just amazing.
 
This summer has been the most disappointing I've seen in a while. Perhaps that is why District 9 shines so well.

Unfortunately District 9 isn't the perfect film that everyone is claiming it to be nor is it as deep. With that being said: Yes, it is best film of the summer and yes it does deserve your money.

This movie is Deep, I reccommend not seeing to many trailers and reading too many reviews before you go in, You will just be blown away at how hard this film hits you.
 
Yeah, the trailers made sure they didn't give the movie away, which was nice. It was so unpredictable, I loved it.
