Who's looking forward to this month's patch?

Hope the improvements make the M203 better so i don't dread using it or having that weapon. But the rest of the improvments sound wonderful!

Still excited! xDD Can't wait. don't like the new m203 though. i like it challenging....:D

I regularly use the 203, and I'm welcoming this update. The 203 is superior to the 203, and now it will be much more comfortable to use. I don't feel that they've "dumbed down" the 203 whatsoever. The extra grenade alone would have sufficed for me, but lowering the angle at which the weapon is held, and adjusting the sights make me overjoyed.

I think what he means is that the new 203 will be superior to the old.
With it's quicker load time, and it's sight that now works, and it's different tilt angle.

Just remember this fellas, far more expansive and expensive games have been known to postpone updates and releases. Let's have faith. To bad the wouldn't let our division do the testing for them.

Yeah, that would have been awesome to test these new updates... I understand now, thanks Un4Gvn, I can't wait to try the updated version.

If then...

yeah I am used to waiting for this kind of stuff. I am so used to waiting for stuff for little things like x-mas cards my grand parents send all the x-mas cards at the same time but I seem to get mine 2 weeks after my siblings get theres... and the legend of zelda: twilight princess was post postponed for a year I believe. I hope we don't have to wait that long.

I'm just worried that when they try to make the M203 better, they might accidentally nerf it. By lowering the angle, wouldn't it not fire as far as it already does? And in all honestly, I'm not too concerned about how comfortable my little model is holding the M203, I just want him to be blowing stuff up. As for the sights, I don't know exactly how it helps.

Oh, and I know that almost everything gets delayed. I just can't remember a time when INS has been on schedule.

the 203 is superior to the 203? what do you mean by that?

Hah, this is what happens when I get on here while I'm supposed to be doing homework lol. Sorry for the confusion. Un4gvn hit the nail on the head. I also meant to add that the 203 is superior to the rpg, but somehow left that out all together.

Negative, the effective range has not been altered; however the aim has been adjusted. I'll post screen shots which will correspond with the video (as the majority of us are visual learners) this evening. This will hopefully resolve the many concerns people have about the topic.

So if the effective range is the same, the power is the same, you'll just be aiming the iron sights higher to get the same angle for the shot? Or did they increase the power of the shot? Changing variables in a three-dimensional grid involving parabolas is just shy of confusing :).

Urgh, parabolas, the term itself gives me the chills. lol.

The purpose of this post is to be a visual aid to the recent announcement of the 203 adjustments. I will be taking screen shots on Buhriz which will directly correspond with the video originally posted (in this thread) by air_nith. So I will be taking the same shots from the same position (roughly.) What you should look for is the angle at which the shooter with the new 203 aims compared to the angle at which I must aim with the old 203. You will see that for the closer shots I must aim well below where I wish to shoot, however the new 203 doesn't have this problem. I also feel that the new 203 will resolve the problem that the current 203 is having with shooting through windows.

In conclusion, I can see the concern that the 203 has had the range nerfed, however the weapon hasn't been changed, only the sights. Although the range has not been reduced, further range shots are now slightly more difficult to aim because the tilt must be high enough to have the leaf sights over the horizon; however, I still have this problem with long shots on maps such as almaden. The close range effectiveness of the 203 has been amplified which is a great relief for me. Typically, one has more time to take aim the further the enemy is from them, but for close range one's reactions much be quick and fluid. Therefore, it is my opinion that the new 203 is far superior to the old 203, and I can't wait to put it to use!

and the best of all the m203:

I noticed the increased reloading/leaf flip speed-Nice
I also notest that the leaf sight seams to serve no purpose now-not so nice

Oh... well I see how it's working now. Sorry, but I'm disappointed... Whenever I had to make a close shot, I would hip-fire. The old M203's hip fire is about the same angle as the new M203's iron sight. In my eyes, it looks less versatile. I would only use the iron sights for far shots, so I never had a problem having to aim lower than the target. Now, it's only making it harder for me to shoot further.

agreed i olny ever you the m203 ironsigts for long shots fire close and mediume range i just hip fired
