Well the Ec's wanted to get a few more competitive events up and running and already have a few ideas in mind. The Ec's was hoping to use some of your suggestions to help in the creation of some new competition related events.

When I say competitive, I mean the more serious event types where there are winners. This means no alltalk, fun commands, and etc.

If you have any ideas or suggestions, please post them here or send me a pm.

My suggestion: I still think that competition leagues should give participants a competition medal.

I'm OK with competitive events but I like to just have fun and hang out more ;)

I would have loved to compete in the TF2 League, but my internet situation was the problem. I am now on cable, and would love to compete!

I like competition as long as it's not so competitive that the players end up sliming each other... that's just no fun whatsoever, but friendly competition is always good.

Competitive matches are the best. Does not need to be part of a league or the classic Tag scrims we have. I would show up to more events if they were competitive.

I don't attend events much because of my work schedule, but I was at the recent late night fight. I don't want to be overly negative, so I'll just say I like dog tag scrims (the other event I usually make it to since it's on Saturday) much more than the late night all talk fights. :glare:

I enjoy competitive scrims. where they are compettive but nothing to serious like the league we had going. But i also like our informal events that we have.

Bottom line: More Competive scrims! but equal number of informal fun command events

Giving us actual times instead of telling us that we should decide among ourselves would make it less hectic imo. As well as letting us have more reserves.

Definitely yes.

My team is in the TF2 League finals this coming week - and I've very much enjoyed playing in it so far.

Well if your looking for ideas, why not do like top of the class tourneys on like saturday nights or something. you could have an event each week for each class except maybe medics because that would be a terrible match.

Why not have just a random team scim where the winning team gets a medal or an avatar or something. It could be that its still a regular event but everyone has to hit random when they join.

how about a have a royal rumble scrim of some sort, where there are 2 teams facing each other, and the winner of the match stays in the server the losers leave. and the winning team is the first team to reach X amount of wins. If at the end of the event no team reaches the amount of wins, the team with the highest wins. In the event of a tie, the 2 teams will battle it out to win.

well there are some ideas for you. i hope that helped.

I like my competitive to be competitive and my fun to be fun (meaning I like both, but they each have their own time and place--fusion does not work).

How about pick up competitive games like the league games. Have people just come or sign up for a particular night, put them into teams and play a pickup game with the league settings (no need to record demos and that stuff, but make it 6v6, class restrictions, etc).

What do you guys think of a 2 hour event?

What we've been thinking (not official yet) of doing is having a basketball event where the teams are random and there would be 3-4 people on each team.

Instead of having this being spread out over a few weeks, like the Tf2 League, have it so it's just compressed into one event, probably once per month. There's still kinks and other details that need to be worked out, but I really want to know if you guys could handle it being 2 hours?

I can totally handle that just as long as it's on a clear holiday time or weekend. Perhaps put in a quick 5 minute or 10 minute break sometimes for bathroom or just to look around and it will be perfect. The only problem with that might be the timing of the event to ensure that the maximum amount of people can attend.

Yea, you wouldn't be playing 2 hours straight :P. It's just how long the event will take if lets say 32 people sign up for it. That would give us 8 teams of 4 people. Two teams will be called in server for a 15 minute round. This would follow a single elimination type tournament.

You might want to think about retracting that statement.

Anywho, what happened to the WTB matches? I thought that they were fun, but I suppose it may have been dropped because they were not open for all members.
