Where is a 98 beetle fuel filter located?

I have to replace mine and I don't know where it's located. Does anyone know?

Bad idea asking on a gaming site...

But anyway, I highly doubt it's the same, but my 2000 Volvo V70XC's filter is located in the rear wheel well area on the passenger side. if you get down on the ground, and look towards to the front of the car and slightly up, there is the metal cylinder that is the filter.

You can try checking there, the only reason I bring it up is because they are both Euro cars and often they share the same little weird things like this.
