Novint Falcon Experience Thread

Hello Mastermind.1, yes it will arrive by Christmas (assuming UPS holds to their part of the deal - we got it to them in time). welcome to the Falcon family! let me know how it goes, and anything I can do to make your Falcon experience a great one.

Ordered it. It looks very impressive and I (seriously) cannot wait to try it out. I hope it's worth it :D
 
GOT IT

my review of this prodcut:

Ups man pulled up and hande be a box.
I look on it, and it said novint.
I was supposed to open it on christmas, but i went ahead.
i opened it, and saw this beautfiul piece.I was shocked.
It was grand.
so i got every thing out of there Styrafoam compartments, and sat the falcon on my desk.
I had some noob difficulties when installing.
Got some help from Another Ego member.
Then did the tutorial.
Feeling those textures, was amazing. I felt the Rough texture, as if it was really there. after that. I went to a game.
Counter strike in fact.
I made a server. added some bots then, turned the rcoil and stuff up. and got a deagle.
When I shot, my hand jerked up. it was insane.
After that I Joined a server. Played with it, and noticed i failed. it was so hard playing with it. Becausemy hand would shake. and i would pullit all the way out, to fir so i could get more accuracy, and so it wouldnt kick so much. yes it was back to defaults.
In my opinion, Ups and downs:
Ups: Its amazing, makes the game more realistic. I loved feeling textures and recoils of many different guns.I was very amazed feeling it reload in my hand. If they had agame made just for this. I would buy it. Downs: Im so impatient. I played for twodays and isuck badbadbad. but i pwn with a mouse. Idk what ill do if i keep losing.
Willyouever make a game specificly for it?

Mastermind.1 thanks for your post. It does take some getting used to for online games - usually about 20 hours before you're feeling yourself again, and you can improve from there. It's important for many people to leave the control settings at defaults until you get used to it (about 10 hours, then you can tweak from there). It will come ;). thx, tomnovint

I dont own the piece,

However, I did get a chance to test it for a few moments. The experience was enlightening to say the least. I put it on my wishlist for now b/c there is no way I can afford anything like this right now. I'd love a chance to give it a go on a few games. Overall very solid tho, good product.
 
I don't own the Novint Falcon,

BUT

I do think it looks like it could easily beat a mouse. I have a lot of money saved up now, but I don't think it's enough to pay for it yet... But I have nothing else I want, so thanks for making this! I have a goal to reach, now!

I WILL buy this Novint Falcon, looks sweet, and from what I've seen, supports most of the games that I play. Some suggestions to add to your game list support is Call Of Duty MW2, and L4D2. Still, I play TF2 the most, and boy, does it look amazing!!

Once I get it I'll review it on my site, hopefully people will read it and love it!

On the site, though, I don't see any way to purchase the Falcon with the pistol grip by itself, I mean, you can get it with the orange box, and you can get the Falcon without the pistol grip (comes with the ball grip instead), but nothing like that by itself. If there is I must be blind :P

I am a former falcon owner. When I got my falcon(novelty wore off after a while), it was extremely fun and the demos were awesome. But that's the problem...while the demos were amazing, I didn't really like it in game. I think if it had better support in more games, it would be more enjoyable. I do believe that stuff like the Falcon, along with 3D, are the future of gaming. Thanks for a great product, it's just not quite there yet, imo.

I ended up selling it for $50 to a good friend.
 
thanks for the note FreakingHell. You do have to get used to it in games, and have to take the time to do so. I've also had conversations with people where minor tweaks made the difference between them not liking it and them loving it. Hopefully with our new F-Gen drivers, it will be more compelling for you and others too, as I think that will greatly expand our software support. thx, tomnovint
 
Hello tomnovint, I've emailed you at the email you provided two posts ago, hope it's OK :)

I have one question: It the Falcon itself heavy, and tiring to use?
 
I also mailed. And no.. it isnt Death Injection.. not at all. However the recoil settings can knock ya around a bit lol. But that's all config.
 
Depending on the config I used, I found it tiring after lengthy sessions.

But it doesn't have to be.

If you get your workspace set up the right way, you won't get tired. I often go 5-6 hour sessions.

Falcon: used it in the eGO BBQ
Comment: I really think it's a great product, it is a little hard to get used too, but it does provide you with a very great playing alternative. You will have more fun thatn a boring old mouse, trust me.
 
Falcon: Stolen (LOL JK!! Going to get one soon)

Pretty fun to play with, I only experienced it over a friends house, it was like Heaven all over again.. except with Guns.
 
Ho hum.... I need $63 more to have enough money for this... Even with the deal!

So I'll be getting it around March... That is unless I make some other money alongside my allowance...

I'm so sad right now :(

Don't get me wrong, the deal is great! Without it I'd need... Well WAY more!
 
Falcon: Bought it on a sale.
Opinion: It's pretty cool, I'm afraid of breaking it though i turn pretty fast D:
