Windows 7?

Hey all,
I heard about alot of people that upgraded to Windows 7 recently. Can any of you give me feedback on if its good/not good?

Also, can any of you guide me through the process of upgrading to Windows 7? I dont know how ><

Uhhh it seems like it would be hard because we cant talk about piracy on here and if u wanted to get it legit, you cannot download the RC one anymore from the microsoft website.

As for feedback, yea im running windows 7 ultimate and its been great so far, improvements over windows vista ultimate in load times and shut down times. The UI enhancements are great and welcomed and the gaming is either the same or better. It is basically the same as the late Vista ultimate SP2 or watever the latest service pack was but its got improvements here and there to make it better. The UI is actually really good i have to say, i am quite pleased with it and its a wonder to work with.

Ok guys, here it is! If you are a student (a big "if" I know), you can now get a legal copy of the windows 7 rtm. For those of you that don't know rtm=final copy that the store will sell. It will cost you $20 to join the ACM, and a bit of waiting, but it works, and you can legally download the .iso file, and get 2 keys for each (32-bit and 64-bit) version of win7. You also can access xp, vista, and many more software titles.

it like vista with all of it's service packs and a lower memory footprint and some Polish to the GUI with more the 4gb ram i would take it over xp and day.

and for upgrading your better off with a clean install so back up your personal data and wipe out you windows partition when you install.

it always better to keep your data on it's own partition or drive separate from the OS and apps it really help with upgrades or working with more than one OS

ya and it's the own companies fault that they get pirated got all of these big companies that are slow to move or just don't want to change there business model with the times so they outlaw the alternatives.

Windows 7 is supposed to be out on October 22, 2009.

This will tell you if you can upgrade (most likely you can), but there is other information which you might find useful.

You can try some of the links suggested, but most likely you will have to wait. My wife has had both Vista and the W7RC. She likes Windows 7 much better. She says it is a lot faster on her computer and has been very happy with it. I'm still using XP which has been fine and I'm glad I won't ever have to have a Vista system on my PC because the next computer I buy will have Windows 7.

I am running the legit version of the RTM right now and it works great. I find my computer runs smoother than it did with vista and has changed my overall experience.

why so just put your data on it own drive or partition and do a win7 clean install

it is possible to upgrade from vista sp2 but you will also end up keeping a bunch of bloat that you dont need doing that.
