Farewell To Our Friend

It is with great sorrow that eGO must say goodbye to one of our own. Most of us knew Tech Sgt. Starbuck as "Tech", or sometimes "Little Timmy's Dad". The luckier ones knew him as Ken Mauder. He was 57 years old, and a three year member of our community.

Ken was one of the veteran members of eGO. He joined his friends Sad Sak, JohnT, Artimus, Elldallan and Slayr after leaving their old gaming clan, Resistance Platoon. The =(eGO)= tag would not be the recognizable symbol it is today, if not for Ken. He was the one who originally came up with the idea to give our tags the wings we all wear with pride.

For three years, we laughed with Tech, as he regaled us all with the imaginative adventures of "Little Timmy". He was a colorful addition to our Team Speak and then our Ventrilo channels. We cheered him on in Donner, as we captured the tank and forged our way through the connector. Tech was our one man comedy show who brought a smile to the faces of those who knew him best. He inspired old school community loyalty, and a sense of family, to those of us wearing the very tags he helped to create.
In essence, Tech was not just friend. He was family.

In the last year, it was with alarm and dread, that we witnessed the decline of Ken's health. Throughout the hospital visits, and the surgeries, Ken's spirit stayed vibrant. After battling illness related to surgical recovery, Ken could no longer fight the good fight.
On Tuesday, July 14th, 2009, Tech Sgt. Starbuck was called home for the last time. Our John Wayne has sauntered off into the sunset, and the world is sadder for its loss.

there really isnt a lot one can say after that. Fluffy thank you for posting this.

In the 2 years ive been in this clan i talked to him close to a dozen times.

In all those times i remember each conversation. For each conversation not only contained a story, but probably some of the best wisdom any member of this clan would ever recieve.

Thank you for the times, the memories, and the much needed wisdom.

Ken, forever you will be in our hearts and our memories. Know that we are proud to have had you on our journey as we progress in a new world surpassing many obstacles and dreams.

Thank You

Ken will be apart of hearts forever.

Prayers go with the family.

Although I have never met the man, I can say that he is now in a better place. He is now resting and is no longer suffering. Rest well, Sir.

My condolences to the family.

May you rest in piece, and god be with you to your journey into heaven. I salute you sir, and will always be at your service, and for the clan helped create service.

*SALUTE*

We all joined the clan for different reasons, but I bet the majority of people came to have a good time with good people. Tech was one of those 'good people' who made this place great, and his presence will be sorely missed.

Rest in peace Tech.

i never talked to him before but he is not suffering anymore and he will be remembered to all eGO members. To Tech RIP.

Never met you Tech, but your reputation precedes you, Rest in Peace.

I regret that I never got to know such a great guy. Farewell sir, my prayers go with you and your family.

The times that I talked with Ken he was always in a happy mood and he sure made playing the game fun. He will be missed.

This is very sad. But thank you for letting us know.
For what its worth, and all he's been through, maybe he's in a better place now.

*God Bless you Tech*
