How does one become part of the give aways and such that I see advertised in-game a lot?

FOrums are so big, and I usually only get time to check them at work so I can't look long. When I am home I am playing.

It's usually done by donating to the clan, then there's usually a raffle at a given point in time. It usually goes $1 = 1 ticket of your name in a hat, if your name's drawn when something's up, you win.

That's basically right, usually each month they have a big prize that gets raffled off, a Gaming computer usually. Each 1$ that you donate that month gets you 1 chance to win the prize. At the end of the month there is a drawing to pick the winner. I have also seen random prizes been given away at meetings (headsets, gaming routers etc). So it can't hurt to donate and attend the meetings!!! might just land you some new gear!
