Whats up with TF2 division..

I think school is the major factor for the servers being dead during the day, before 4pm. After 4PM, is whats baffling. What is everyone doing? I know there's a lot of Euro members in TF2 as well as people who aren't in school all day.

Honestly, I think its' time to step up. I for one am sick of seeing our servers completely empty. I counted 6 servers last night, that were completely dead at 5PM. That's unacceptable.

I see a lot of people upset about how TF2 is being managed, and I can honestly say, you're just going to have to get over it. There's nothing you can really do to change how they do things, aside from submitting complaints or suggestions in the hopes that you'll be noticed. Put these feelings aside for the betterment of eGO, man-up, or woman-up.

Lately, I've been trying pretty hard to get people into Valve Maps, trying to keep it full. I don't know what it is, but my efforts seem to be futile. Yesterday, I tried to get people on my friends list to join a game I was in. 5 people showed up, out of the 100 or so that I sent messages to. Are people not willing to help? What's going on? The only time I get a major turnout is when I ask TF2 Leadership for an Announcement to be made on the Steam group.

We all need to do our part. It doesn't take much to keep these servers full. Seeding isn't going to do the trick anymore. We can't have 5 people in spec and expect people to want to play there. We need people actually playing.

I look forward to this meeting, hopefully we can resolve these problems and keep our servers alive.

I cut back on play time since I started college already...I try to play when I can but college keeps me busy most of the time so Im either seeding or not on at all =/

1. College Applications
2. Writing my Extended Essay
3. Working on my Eagle Project
4. General IB crap
5. School

Frankly, I've been wanting to read Atlas Shrugged for the past month and a half (that's when I decided to order it off of amazon), but everytime I sit down to read a little I think of the above list and decide that I haven't made enough progress on something and therefore set the book down and get back to work. I know I should've worked on some of those things during the summer, but I got "senioritis" and it's come back to bite me in the butt. I've probably only been able to play TF2 once a school week and in the evenings over the weekend, and it saddens me. It'll be so much better second semester because I'll be done with the top three items on that list by December.

Why is there no more time nowadays?!?!

I have school but I'll set some time aside for tf2.

Is that prioritizing? Games are great and eGO is great, but school, homework, and such should take priority over them. You shouldn't set time aside for TF2 unless that time is taken out of your other videogames' time.

School, Tae-Kwon-Do, Judo, Boy Scouts, Steam not working, Fallout 3. I'm waiting for vacations.

I know a lot of players are complaining about the high pings on the 2fort fios (non-instant) server. I myself hate it cause I get 110ms compared to the old server where i get 76ms. Also the Egypt server pings were just plain awful last week with intense ping spikes from 80ms-200ms through out the day lasting hrs each. These effect about 15%-40% players which is quite significant. These are my main reasons for playing less.

Also as of now the servers aren't updated, so no more halo hats in game.

as said before, school is up and running and people are pissed that 100% of their time goes to homework and various after-school activities.
I'm in pre-ib (the signature should be a hint to that) so I'm up to my ears in work and quizzes almost every day this week so studying has consumed my play time.
There is the ever popular school sports that run every day. I myself prefer a debate of intelligence rather than strength so I have filled my after-school schedule with debate, Model United Nations, and SCA.. with more to come as soon as they tell me when the club starts.

So I can understand your frustration, and at the same time I can understand our lack of energy towards gaming. Maybe we should cut back on a few servers until we get into a decent rhythm, just a suggestion.

I'm not even mentioning girlfriends that can slowly devour your life and your fun. Too obvious.

yeah mostly school and work. Although the massive lag spikes and server crashes dont help very much, i still find time to play when i can.

Yeah it doesnt help because I used to have a low ping and now its really high for some reason. I also have theatre production newspaper, top choir, IDS, and lots of science.

I have to agree with a few here on what I think are big issues.

1. The biggest drop in players that I seen was when the stats system changed it upset more than a few players. Many of these seen this as a good time to start over with their stats somewhere else.
On this end of things I think for the stat hungry players if we leave the new system going and don't reset it we will see a slow increase and build back up.

2. School restarted.

Also I have in right know for the last 2 weeks 62 hours in on our servers whether it is seeding or playing so I am here and ready to play.

By the way all Dustbowl could use all your love :)

Another thought I had is we might need to drop some of our servers to consolidate the players we have. Just a thought.

In my opinion, I think that the Verizon servers are discouraging some players from actually playing there, because it's so laggy. And I'm one of those people affected by it..And I connect to those eGO "non-Verizon fios" servers.

A good chunk of the servers lag bad for me so I haven't been playing much on ours :(

All the servers I want to play on have me at over 100 ping (esp. Turbine and Gravel Pit) other than that, I still play quite frequently.

.... I'm in Taiwan...

So... school?
Geez, I thought the empty servers were because I can only log on when its 5 AM in America.

Geee, I remember back in the days of Team Fortress Classic when 100 ping was considered screaming speed. I guess I don't care as much about ping rates as others do, I just like to play the game. If I have a bad connection or lag time, I don't rage-quit. I just battle through it and play the game, in some way it makes it more challenging as you have to work extra hard to not get killed by a lag spike. Think of it like playing horseshoes blindfolded, it's fun for you but you never know what to expect coming back to you. :)

Me? I've gotten tired of playing shoot-em-up games; long respawn times are extremely frustrating, especially when you keep dying repeatedly.

Oh, and Eve Online is infinitely more fun.

Think that's about it.
