Title: Con Air

Story: A prison transport is taken over by it's prisoners and Nic Cage is the only one who can stop them.

Review: This movie along with The Rock and Face/Off were the three films that launched Nicolas Cage's career of being an action hero. When you sit down an think about Cage's raise as an Action star, it makes no sense. Up until 1996 the man was so far from an action guy that it seems like they weren't even in the same profession. Why Jerry Bruckheimer thought it would a be a great idea to put Cage into an action movie is beyond me. Though they have worked together six times now.

So yeah, enough about Cage's inexplicable raise in action films. Con Air is one of the great massive action block-busters of the 90s. With an all star cast, a crap load of explosions and just enough insanity to where suspension of disbelief is required...but not difficult. With all that said, this isn't a good movie. It's fun to watch, but in comparison to other films of the genres it's not all that spectacular.

Story: World War III has wiped out most of the worlds population. There is an attempt to save mankind by sending POWs backwards and forwards in time in an attempt to find supplies. Our protagonist is one of those POWs.

Review: Clocking in at just 28 minutes and constructed almost entirely of still photos, La Jet?e is truly a one of a kind movie. By still photos, I mean they show a photograph and then explain the action, like a PowerPoint presentation or a documentary. The tale is told via narrator and the version that I saw had an English voice over...so those who hate subtitle have no reason not to watch this one. The combination of voice over and still photos makes gives the film an interesting effect and allows for the viewer to completely soak in the scenery. Because of the run time, the quality of the English narrations, the quality of the story and the way it's told; I cannot help but give this film the highest score that I can. To put it bluntly, see this damn movie.

Story: Koyaanisqatsi ( Pronounced: KOY-ah-nis-KAHT-see) is a word from the Hopi language. It means; crazy life, life in turmoil, life out of balance, life disintegrating, a state of life that calls for another way of living.

Review: The basic gist of this film is that human technological advancement is futile and will ultimately lead to our undoing. It doesn't matter whether or not you agree with the meaning of the film, though it does matter that you understand what it's trying to say. The films is essentially a documentary, but without narrations. We are only shown a mixture of stock footage and footage shot for the film and then we are to infer it's meaning. While there is no narration, the musical score does an amazing job setting up both tones and mood for the film. It was composed by Phillip Glass and his composition plays a bigger role than anything else. First film of a Trilogy.

The Exorcist, and the 2 confusing sequels that have similar names and the exact same story like Dominion something or other and I forget the other one's name

Story: A tale about why you shouldn't play with a Ouija board.

Review: I was hyped up to see this movie. I mean it has to be one of the most famous horror films of all times and quite possibly one of the scariest films out there. How could you not get excited to see this one?

Then I saw it and...well, it wasn't scary. It's well shot and acted and all, plus the film had a quality story. But for what was suppose to be one of the best horror films of all time, it was a big let down. I mean the Exorcist isn't by any means a bad movie. I still think it's a movie worth watching, but I do recommend that you adjust your expectations for the film.

Windtalkers is a movie that came out when I was 12. It didn't garner exactly the best reviews and it wasn't the worst movie ever. So it barely registered on my radar.

Story: In 1991 two powerful fronts converge with a hurricane creating the perfect storm.

Review: This is a middle of the road disaster film with a star studded cast and some good special effects. There isn't much more to say about this one. It's a film that exists, but other than it's cast there isn't much here to have it stand out from other disaster films. Interesting fun fact though, apparently the source material for this film is woefully inaccurate. Though that doesn't really matter when it comes to making a movie.
