Xbox 360 or Playstation 3?

Actually, to counter what pillar said, xbox live is now $60 a year, unless you kept a subscription at 50 a year. Once you stop, its 60. Also RRoD typically doesn't happen if you take care of your console. Both of my 360s are from 2006 and 2007, neither have had any problems, due to good air circulation and cleaning. Also, before I forget, 1st gen PS3 are quite rare these days, since everything after isn't backwards compatible, disc-wise anyway. Sony stopped that so that they could sell older games on PSN. Same with Microsoft. Just getting that info out there :)

my original xbox360 despite rarely being used and being literally babied ended up red ringing a year ago so i don't think it matters, the first batch had faulty parts if it survives its more luck than anything.

As for xbox subscription fee, if you want cheap xbox live call them and say your thinking of canceling, they will cut you a deal to get you to stay (iv heard stories of people getting a year for like 20 bucks and been given free Microsoft points) generally the longer you have been a member the more they want you to stay, I've been a member since for like 7 years

also fun story, i ended up with free xbox for like 3-4 years, either way since the release of halo2 (when i signed up for it) and the Christmas of the year xbox360 came out, the free trail cards you entered a credit card number and said if you cancel before a certain date you will not be charged if you wish to keep the service simple don't cancel, I never canceled and I was never charged until i linked my live account with my xbox360

I like the Xbox controller. It is a lot more comfortable that the PS3 Controller. I like how the PS3 has free online services. But the Xbox is a lot better in my opinion.

I don't have to give you a bunch of sentences to tell you the Xbox is better the online is way better
And games are better and the Xbox gets things earlier

Thanks for all the feedback guys! I think that once I get a little more money (i.e. the cost of a console :D) I will be ready to make my decision! Any other suggestion or thoughts are still welcome though! I appreciate it!

Well I take care of both of my 360s, especially now since they're way out of warranty. At first I didn't, but now I pop them open and clean the dust out of them. Like I said, my warranty has expired, so it doesn't matter .

For the subscription fee, I've found a way around paying for a year. I start off at the beginning of the year and usually buy 3 months (after-holiday deals) and use that for awhile. I let my sub expire and literally the same day when I turn on my xbox, I see an advertisement for 1 month, $1. After that for every month throughout the year, its just $1 lol. I paid at most $20 for live last year, felt good finding a way around the system :thumbup1:.

Well it depends on what you are going to use your console for. For example, if you want to use a console for really good graphics and good gameplay then go for the PS3, but if you want to have a console for multiplayer games then go for the X-Box 360. But we all know that the best games and the best quality games are played with a PC. PC is for pro's. Im not against the consoles but i think that PC destroys everything in graphics and in gameplay. Multplayer on some games might be a problem because its relatively easy to use an aimbot or ESp hack but usually we dont run into any one with hacks.....a lot of people may accuse others of hacking but i seriously doubt if they are....so.....it really depends on you... :) :) :) :)

Yeah your definetly right...i dont like the contrller for PS3 because it doesnt feel strong in your hands and they arent that durable....i think i like X-Box a lot more just because Microsoft makes it. BTW i cannot stand apple products...and my phone is an android lol....im such a nerd :)

Which game you want to play? Since some games are Exclusively for the Xbox, such as the Halo Franchise, and LittleBigPlanet and Killzone are only for the PS3. (example only).

XBOX cause it is the one my parents gave me and I don't have the money to buy the other one. Though TBH, I use my N64 more than my xBox now a days.

Well I would be more interested in playing Halo than the PS3 specific games....

N64 still? Classy! :thumbup1:

Actually just so you know....the 360 has a better gpu. What the PS3 has over it is its Cell processor. I don't remember the exact specs, but its better than the cpu of the 360. The graphics that PS3 games have these days are quite muddy if you notice. Resistance 3 is a perfect example. When I played Starhawk, I noticed them as well. Its noticeable on 360 as well, but not nearly to the same extent.
