Honestly for me its lost its touch because people don't seem to want to make it fun at times.
I'm not saying that it isn't, but I feel that its lost its touch in enthusiastic players. I know when the right players are on (usually the people that either know how to warden or rebel) I can sit in the Jail server for almost 3-4 map changes. However, I find myself leaving (not because of warden commands and games or rebelling), but because a lot of people don't enjoy their time in the server.
Call me crazy and tell me that EVERYONE in the server is enjoying themselves, but I can tell (especially in vent). When the the people in the server are enjoying themselves the vent channel rarely stays quiet.
That's my personal opinion. You can hate on it and tell me I am wrong, but that's truth for me.
This has been my way of thinking for a while. Whether or not jail is fun is mostly due to who is playing as CT. When even 1 person feels the need to kill half the T team straight out of cells, the game becomes increasingly frustrating for a lot of people, and not just the ones killed. I simply just can't fathom why people go out of their way to make jail less fun in ways such as this. This is why I adapted my rules of engagement and created a guide in an attempt to get others to do the same. Unfortunately, the ones I think would benefit from reading it, don't read it.
You can have whatever maps, games, ideas, whatever, but if the CTs fail to utilize them, they may as well not exist.
. SpecialForces Panda is another excellent warden, he was always having fun, calling the couches/boxes to die in boxgame/couchgame. I had quite a lot of fun when he was warden.). Also, no one really wants to be warden, because I see one guy getting warden multiple times because of a loss of interest. Furthermore, we could use a vote for warden if nobody claims warden, and maybe a vote to remove a warden and revoke warden if they are doing bad, but include CTs in the vote. This is what controls Jail the most. There are things people don't do and yet have the option. I see many good CTs/Wardens creating new and intriguing games and the there's the wardens that do the same thing every time they're warden.
BUT, its also up to the Ts to do stuff like rebel instead of following the CTs orders all the time. Many wardens also move Ts around allowing them the option but at most its one or two that try to escape and rebel then die because you HAVE to work as a team.
Both sides need to use TEAMWORK more and it would be a lot more interesting than just either a) the CTs getting wiped off the floor or B) the Ts failing to win a round because they don't try to communicate and work together.
). Another thing I find that happens, is that even though I usually die rebelling, is that I cause enough chaos to get all the other Ts into rebellion. Less lenient on free killers, warning every single person by name every time they free kill is just pathetic and doesn't at all compensate the person who got free killed. Very unjust, if you free kill you should get revoked for 3 rounds right away so that the T who got free killed doesn't get frustrated at the fact that he is has to wait 8 minutes while the CT just gets a measly little warning.
And another thing... #UNBANWARDAYS2012

What about an accidental freekill? Example: The Ts are stacked on the warden's spray. A T with a gun shoots 2 CTs. The warden orders the Ts to unstack, and a CT shoots the T who killed the previous two CTs with an AWP, but an innocent T is accidentaly freekilled because he was close behind the rebelling T. Don't see how that could happen, but something to think about.
Intentional freekill=3 round revoke, 24 hour ban for second offense, perm ban for third offense.
Accidental freekill=Freekilled T gets ST next round no matter what.
it would be nice if leadership could seriously consider adding a good !lr mod with plenty of options into the server. I say this for alot of reasons
- Would change things up making getting LR more intresting and desirable since you have full contol of what you want to do
- Most of the time guards have a hard time complying with a Terrorist's custom LR, this can be very frustrating and makes it seen like getting LR is pointless if all you can do is ct idol or s4s
- Eliminates the option of a CT killing you for something stupid and ruining your LR or dying by Last CT in an unfair way
im not saying get rid of custom LRs im just saying the !lr mod could make things alot more fun on the server. things just seem be be getting more and more repetitive and to be honest if youre not a rebel or constantly warden i really dont see the fun in playing jail at all.
Allow Ts to use primaries if their LR requires it.
Ban FR/LR and Simon Says. (Or ban FR/LR and keep Simon) Those are the two most boring games ever. If a warden wants to get rid of some Ts, just play the couch game instead.
Also, while I understand this would increase load times for new players, custom skins for the CTs and Ts, along with a Last Request plugin would be pretty cool. I think having an Last Request plugin would make getting LR more enticing.
