Jail: Ideas and Brainstorming!

Alright guys! It's been a while since the last time we've had a thread discussing new and innovative games to play with the terrorists, fun last requests we can play as the last terrorist alive, and general ideas concerning the changes we think would increase the popularity of the jail server.

We've seen some phenomenal improvements to the server in recent jail history, including the awards and credit system, new skins, the LR plugin, and a variety of new maps. With these changes, it'll be nice to think about how we can use these new additions to our jail server in creative ways to make jail more fun. So, let's jump right into it! Here are some of my ideas:

Credit Raffle - Met with a fair amount of success, this idea is for any player to "raffle" a certain amount of credits off to an individual for completing a certain task. For example, the way I would do it is to wait until there's only one guard left, and then over admin chat, say: "Whoever kills [last guard's name] will receive X amount of credits!" (Usually 20 or so; not a large amount, but still worth fighting for). But, it could also work in addition to other games. As a simple example, if the T's are doing race, you could say, "The last 2 people to complete race dies. The first place winner will receive 30 credits!"

Sixth Sense - Pair off the terrorists (play a quick 3 second game of lr/fr or something if you have an odd number). Then, after the pairs have lined up, have each pair be back-to-back, facing away from each other. Now you have a line of terrorist pairs, all back-to-back. So, let's say one individual in the pairs is facing North (and the other individual in the pairs would be facing South). Pick a point in front of the individuals facing North, and pick another point in front of the individuals facing South. These two points should be equidistant from each other (i.e. one person in the pair should have to run just as far to get to the point as the other person). Then, when you say go, the person to reach their point first out of each pair wins. Best played when there is one CT to watch each pair.

Musical Circle - Think of this as musical chairs. Have everybody make a circle, where one point of that circle is touching a line (or some other reference point). For example, have the terrorists make a circle, where one part of the circle is on top of a black and yellow line. Then, have them move a certain direction around the circle. The warden is facing away from the T's, and at a certain point, types "STOP". Whichever T's are on the black and yellow line when the warden types "STOP" die. They constantly have to be moving, but can shift walk when they're not on the black and yellow line. Some of the smarter ones will crouch-shift walk (must be verified they're actually moving though, and if all of them start doing it, just restrict it). Also have guards watching to ensure no cheating.

Alliance - Split the terrorists into X number of teams (ex. 3 teams; number of teams depends on number of terrorists, but usually 3 or 4 people per team suffices). Then, play any game you wish, and whoever is in first place wins the game for the team. That team is then exempt, while the other teams have to b-hop around a small, pre-defined area (they're killed if they leave it), while the warden kills 2 or 3 people randomly. Then, the games resume.

These are some of the ideas I've had since the updates to our jail server. Feel free to share any new games you'd want to play, or any suggestions you have that you feel might make our jail server even better.

One suggestion that I'd have, for example, would be to have a pop-up menu asking the last terrorist if s/he'd like to respawn all of the CTs for his/her last request.

Finally, here is a list of the other threads we've had on the same or similar topics:

Parvovirus B19's thread concerning our "input on how we could help improve the jail server".

NMsniper's thread concerning new games for CS:GO (all of which applied to CS:S as well).

Cyanide's thread concerning new games for CS:S jail.

Cyanide's thread concerning new games and activities for wardens to do.

Let's get brainstorming everybody! :)

With the new Jail Rule Book many rules have been changed for old games as well

Trivia It is allowed again and can kill off terrorists

Simon Says Movement Commands are allowed once again (ex "Simon says go to park"=ok)

For Gaurds, with the new rule
Finding loopholes in the Guards orders and execute the loophole.
You shouldnt be trigger happy unless you know your orders are solid and they CANT find the loophole.

-This post was made 6:00 am for me, I hate you all

One LR that I really enjoy doing is on some of the maps there are trampolines, and there is this one map that you can jump really high on it so it's a lot of fun. I tell the CTs (When I first tried this out there were 4 CTs) they have to be on the trampoline and jumping, I will knife CTs while jumping on the trampoline, but the CTs can't knife back until there are say 2 CTs left.

Granted this could take a while, and an alternative could be to start shooting the CTs if the game was at a stand still.

i did not realize we can sit. when was this added

Honestly, I like the idea of team games. You just have to make sure everything is laid out so that there isn't any confusion. As for new !lr games, you could do a traditional dual. 10 paces away locked to a spot facing away and you have to turn and shoot when the timer goes to 0 and you get to fire right when it hits 0. Also, you could have a grenade battle with like 200hp or 300 hp.

Well, this thread had a nice feel to it, good intentions and whatnot. Then people decided to dismantle everyone else's ideas and posts without pitching in so much as one idea themselves.

I agree.

Keep your trolling out of this thread. If you can't handle a serious discussion, I'm gonna go ahead and say you can't handle your admin either.

Jail's gotten too static lately, with the same people CTing the same cellblock games every round. I had the idea of a team-shuffle vote option or something, that would change up the CT team at the end of a round, could just add to the already-slightly-bloated plugin roster but again, it's an idea.

Get rid of invisible T's and make the credit system something worth special occasions only (make awards more expensive), also put a limit on T's buying a gun every round, it kills the actual game playing of jail.

And / or add in team based rewards where someone can buy extra HP (25 or 50) for every one in the team, obviously for Ts itd be more than CTs seeing as there is a 2/1 ratio.

Make the rewards more special aka for more people to strive for it or make it so they get points for working as a team (the Ts) rather than lone ranger.

I'm not sure how often this happens, but wardens repeating the exact same orders that were given during previous rounds also adds to the increasing static nature of jail. The map I notice this the most on is openfield, with wardens always using the side door to head to race EVERY round. It's gotten to the point where that door is about to meet the same fate as couch game in an attempt to increase map exploration and variety. Changing orders and doing different games each round helps so much, and I'm hoping the second map I am making won't suffer the same drawbacks.

I think invisible T's is fun but it does need a higher credit amount or at least a limit to how many people at once, say one T per round, as well as having a limit to how quick everyone can do it again. For example, in the first round I pick invisible. The next time a T should be able to buy it is let's say round 4. That would at least spread the chaos out. I also believe that limiting the times people can buy a gun in a row should exist. RedDragonKnight is onto something there. This has been shown to be a problem by NMHeroSniper. With him being as good of a shot as he is, it makes playing jail pointless when he buys a scout 5 rounds in a row as a T. Today, he finished the entire team off before they could even open the cell doors(No offense to NMHeroSniper...he just was the perfect example). Limiting a player to only purchase a weapon in 1 round, then have to wait a few rounds until they can again would be smart.

Im getting rid of guns from the plugin. Just an FYI. So you can move on from that. Give me until this weekend.
