Server Issues

I keep getting crashed in Jail and Mini Games. I was wondering if it was from servers messing up. Because it just started happening.

My game keeps crashing from Dust_2 over and over. this just started for me and seems like its happening to more then just a few people.

Yea, keep getting the hl2.exe has stopped working error. I have had a couple of players say they are having that problem since the ads started running in the background. Also after a round change.

It happens a lot before a new round.... Also its ONLY in EGO servers. this is sad because i only play EGO servers I played in SOF and some other server just to test this and it is only ego sadly.

However i still feel that even with crashing EGO servers are the only ones worth playing!

Yes, I also played on some other servers tonight and never had a problem. I jumped on dust 2 eGO server and got the error in a couple of minutes.

The past few days there have been complaints happening across the board in our servers about this. It's not just a disconnect, but peoples' games are actually crashing. I can verify that it is only occurring in ego servers. I've tried four non-ego servers, and no issues are occurring there. Conversely, I've seen complaints about this in our Dust 2, Italy, Office, and Minigames servers.

I'm not entirely sure to whom this issue should be addressed, but please do be advised that there have been many players in our servers over the past few days who have been very pissed off. I'm doing my best to keep the peace by assuring players that the issue will be looked at. After a few days of players having consistent crashes, however, I'm afraid it's starting to fall on deaf ears.

Add myself to the crash list. Yesterday I was trying to play and CS:S crashed on me after 2mins of playing on all servers

Been happening to me too off and on. Seems kind of random. I have 2 monitors, I read somewhere on the internet that can cause problems sometimes (who knows how true that is). Anyone else using 2 monitors?

I used to crash a long time ago as various motds would spam unsafe javascript into console, flooding it and forcing a crash. Disabling html motds in your options will fix this problem.

I would try a defrag of your local game files and even your hdd. Maybe even do a little maintenance to your overall pc and see if it persist. That has always helped me in the past whenever i get hl.exe crash.

go to your cs advanced launch options and add -condebug to the box. this will enable constant console logging to a text file. check console after a crash, which can hint at the cause.

I use dual monitors and play cs:s almost exclusively on eGO servers. I haven't had a single issue even after all the recent steam client updates. Have you tried RDK's suggestion of enabling condebug and disabling HTML motds?

I had issues with crashing on every ego server and my error logs showed the culprit was flash. After deleting flash all was well. I use Chromium as my web browser and I think it has flash built-in so no worries but you may instead want to downgrade Flash.

The crashes are definitely the result of the ads in the motd. Players who do not see the ads do not experience the crashes, but those who do crash experience the problem within the first minutes of joining one of our servers.

Given the culprit, is there a "best" option out of the advice given above for fixing this particular issue? I'd like to be able to offer a quick fix to the players who complain about crashing on our servers (short of purchasing DS).
