Title: Torn Curtain
Year: 1966
Country of Origin: US
Director: Alfred Hitchcock
Plot: Michael Armstrong (Paul Newman), a famed American Rocket Scientist, has decided to defect to the Soviet Union...much to the confusion of this fianc?e (Julie Andrews).
Review: This is a later Hitchcock film and not one of my favorites. It's well shot and well acted, but it's missing the sense of excitement and surprise of his earlier work. Sure, there is a decent twist in film and the ending does pick up quite a bit...but this is definitely not one Hitchcock's better films. If you're a fan of Hitchcock, then it's worth checking out, but for most people this isn't essential watching.
