I started a few days ago, and I love IT! My favorite class so far is the Spy, Sniper and Pyro. Is there any tips I should know when I play?

Be alert, trust no one, taunt whenever you kill 36.

Pyro's M2 is very useful, so use it to your advantage - especially when a Soldier is firing rockets at you. You can deflect them onto him using the airblast.

If you get around to liking the Scout, you should know his Scattergun is really deadly if you're accurate with it and can get up close.

That's all I got.

Starting your first fires... :D

Hello, Bleu!

Happy to see another Pyro main around (you will get to know that all the other classes are inferior in the presence of Pyro ;)). I'm not too great at giving guides or information, but let's give this a shot!

AIR BLASTING:
Air blasting is VERY important. With this wonderful power, you can deny any projectile that your enemy launches at you. The only problem is... it's hard to master (I'm not too great at it either). Something that helps me reflect is to listen an look. With a default Rocket Launcher, it's better to watch; if the rocket gets too close to your flamethrower, mouse 2 away! The Huntsman (Sniper's bow and arrow) is the same deal; watch the color streak the arrow makes to give you guidance when to blast. With the Direct Hit, however, I find it best to air blast as soon as you hear the rocket launch (only if you are somewhat close to each other). Once again, I'm not a reflecting goddess, so don't take my advice word for word :).

Air blasting is also a great way to help your team mates! Here's a list of good deeds done with a good ole air blast:
- Putting out fires on burning teammates
- Keeping an ?bercharged enemy away from your teammates
- Incapacitate your enemies by keeping them sky high
- Blasting enemies off cliffs or into other hazards
- Protecting your team's sentries from projectiles
- Protecting the point/objective by air blasting foes and projectiles
- Shoving Dedicated Supporters into corners after the round ends (very important)

WEAPONS:
The weapons Valve provided for the Pyro give players a whole variety of play styles to mess around with. The default weapon set consists of a Flamethrower, Shotgun, and the Axe. This really isn't a bad set up! The only thing I would recommend changing is the Axe. While the Axe has nothing wrong with it, it doesn't have any buffs. I personally prefer the Power Jack, because of the speed boost AND you gain health on kill! Only problem is that you take 20% more damage when you have it out; whether or not you choose to use it is your choice. Now, let's talk FIRE! The Flamethrower is Pyro's primary weapon. To use this weapon effectively, know when to use fire and when to air blast. The best thing I have to say about this weapon is that if you're in a small space, WM+1 everything! If you are in a larger space, blast your enemies in the air, switch to your secondary weapon, then finish them . There are many different types of flamethrowers, but I would go with the default Flamethrower or the Degreaser. Now for secondary weapons, such as the Shotgun. The Shotgun is great! The clip size is convenient, and it gives you plenty of time to attack/reload. Like the Flamethrower, there are many secondary weapons in the Pyro's arsenal. I recommend these three: Flare Gun, Shotgun, or the Reserve Shooter. NOTE: People will hate you for using the Reserve Shooter! Ignore them, and show them its true power !

Well, that's all I guess! I really hope that this was helpful. Welcome to the community, and enjoy your (eternal) stay! Now, go forth bring destruction to the world!

Machina is the only good sniper rifle, just make sure you take fully charged shots ...
And the Black Box for Soldier is pretty lit.

*Advice from a TF2 noob.

Try and protect the medic if he/she is pocketing you.

Try to mask your cloak when decloaking and take some damage before you pull up that Dead Ringer.

Dio gave some pretty good advice for spy, most players recognize the sound of a spy decloaking and will search for you if they hear it, try to put a wall or two between you and them before you decloak.

Spy is really fun when you learn trickstabs but don't just go for them right away, make sure you learn the basics about the disguises, the guns, and your knife before you attempt trick stabs or it will just make spy not fun, as you'll most likely keep dying.

Welcome to TF2, I hope to see you around in the servers!

Step 1: go to YouTube
Step 2: look up how to trickstab
Step 3: practice
Also, sell some of your useless CS:GO skins and buy good items for the classes you play, it's boring playing spy without items. Another good idea - try not to play like me and decloak right in front of a sniper aiming at head level.

Phew.

I could write a long winded guide about how to play this game but honestly after all this time I'm as much a noob as you. So here's some general tips:

Don't spam. Teach yourself to shoot less, and to make every shot count. This helps a lot. It gives your brain less to think about, gives you more opportunity to study your surroundings, and more often than not saves you from running out of ammo during a fight.

Keep auto-reload on. Most reload animations can be cancelled, so go ahead and do that.

Stay Aware. Really look for movement, positioning, and try to predict the future. Eventually you'll want to be able to predict where players will be in the near future by analyzing their current movement and patterns. This helps literally everywhere, from 'leading' with hitscan weapons or making airshots, or even keeping track of unseen enemies in your mind while you place your attention on something else. This, not aim, is the most important skill a player can have. If you can predict what will happen next, you don't need to have godly reflexes.

All this comes through practice. Don't worry if you don't understand all the terms or you don't think what I said is possible. For now just keep playing the game as you are. you'll pick it all up as you go :)

Oh man, you have NO IDEA how many tips you should know. O_O

I'll just leave you one, courtesy of PA (warning, strong language).

Look forward to seeing you on the servers! I'll have to pocket you sometime to help you stay alive for longer. XD

...oh and "pocket" you means I play as a medic and just stay next to and heal just you, like I was in your pocket
