So for those that don't know, TTT has been growing a lot for some reason. Maybe it always has, maybe it is specially now. Either way we are getting new players.

This kind of players always end up rdming somehow and when they get reported they blame it that they are new.

So, if we had a !rules in server name and like a !rules in-game that connects the command to the rules in the web. Maybe, just maybe it reduces the amount of rdm????? i dont know just suggesting tbf

Wasn't there a suggestion for this?

Dont we have something on tf2 like this? Where admins can do /rules kuantum kuantum ? Anyway having a !rules and !rules <target> would be nice

I mean not to hate on you bbob, its a good suggestion and all, but regardless if the command is implemented it wont lower really the rdm
Because face it, the people who join they wont go out of there way to read the rules, plus we have a auto message in chat on how to find the rules.

But +1

We had this command a while back for CS and TF2. The command was !showrules <target> or sm_showrules #userid

Valve removed the ability for CS servers to open up websites completely and replaced it with the Server Website button in the tab screen.

Could have a generic template sent to them instead

The one we had on source servers for showing people rules didn't open a web page - was just a list in game you could close by hitting 1.

Don't know if this can be used with GO or what. We could input server specific rules and they show up upon joining server though, which may be good.

mby making just a menu with a list of most important rules like no racism no rdming no...
like make a menu and than 1.Basic rules of ttt 2.no racism and so on and when you press 1 it shows u the rules of ttt or if you press 2 it shows what is baiting racism and similar things like that

From what I have personally found, there is a point where no matter how many times I tell someone to read the rules/ I quote a rule/ they are swapped for breaking a rule. They will never read or when they do read the rules they can't understand what the rules mean. I think as of now the best option is to inform players on how to view the rules. Overall I would love to see new ways to teach new players but I just don't know how much this specific solution would work.

I think this would be a great idea: especially if we could use !rules <target> as a pop-up. I know we all probably spend a lot of time writing, "Hold tab, right click, left click server website to read the rules".

You can't reliably make pop up windows in SourceMod.

I'm also of the opinion that few people will actually care about these rule infoboxes too. Whenever I see them on servers I spam click 1 until it vanishes.

I'll add an sm_rules command to Maul3 after the initial release is done across CS and TF. Won't be anything special, just makes a textbox show that can be dismissed right after. Admins will at least be able to log that they've sent a rules notification.

Will the command be targetable, or is across server or better yet...

both?

!rules used to exist in pG then it just dissipated one day

Yeah this command / plugin

was removed from TF2 servers, and hasn't been replaced

As I said this will be coming after Maul3 has been globally release on CS and TF - half of the battle is already done for TF.
