EGO seems to be pretty serious when something is "ruining people's experience", but one thing that should be punished more is delaying. It's very difficult for everyone to have a fun experience when each round has a 3-minute delay in-between. And I believe EGO should start filtering out and banning/kicking delayers much more than they do. More people are banned for saying racial slurs than kicked for delays, when slurs are said maybe once or twice a day on TTT and delaying is every round. If an admin isn't on, slurs can still be said, but are easily mutable. On the other hand, if there are no admins delay is unavoidable, but enforcing it while they are online will help the situation and make TTT better for all(Except the delayers :p).

When players are delaying the proper punishments are given. People usually stop delaying when warned and that's why they aren't banned. If we ban everyone who delays there would be 10 people left on the server and when those banned players come back its not going to stop them from delaying again.

Some maps are just more likely for delay to happen because of size and layout or amount of players online.
Sometimes the players just can't find each other even if they are actively running around searching so the round takes forever.
Sometimes people are new and camping somewhere and aren't sure of what to do or of the rules and need to learn first.

No matter what some rounds are just going to have some delay for whatever reason and I highly doubt more bans for delay will do anything about it.

Some valid points, but banning the delayers is a good way for them to learn. I didn't understand a lot of rules and didn't know exactly what they meant until I was warned, kicked, or banned. I still think that banning would be a good reason because I've been banned before and when I was unbanned I was pretty careful to not repeat the same mistakes. And you said that the proper punishments are given, I can only agree with partly. Yes, a few times out of many the proper punishments are given, but the majority of delays that I witness go unpunished and without comment. You may punish accordingly, but I see a lot of admins that don't until prompted.

Some learn from bans some come back and just do what they did again only 10x worse out of spite it really depends.
As a regular player you are unable to see the private messages admins send to those who delay, trust me they are almost always warned. the only reason you will likely ever see a warn is if a bunch of people are delaying at once and its faster to put in [ALL] instead
Kicks happen occasionally and after that point a ban is almost never needed those who will learn stop after the kick and most others just don't come back after a kick.

If you see a player delaying multiple rounds in a row you can always make a player report if admins aren't doing anything sometimes we just have to many reports to handle and the delayers get by.

I make a stink out of delaying every single time I see it. But regarding players coming back from bans and doing more stuff out of spite, that only shows a demographic of people that are not a good part of ego and should be banned. Your first 2 sentences I haven't thought of, but I still would like to see harsher punishments, seeing as it slows down the game progression and wastes lots of people's time.

there just needs to be a system added to auto slap people Not Moving for more than 10 seconds, i've seen this in a french awp server .. it would slap you if you didn't leave spawn in 10 seconds (i think) and you would get auto kicked from the server if you kept doing it. OR maybe switch the slap for a funny noise or something that gives the delayer away

Couple thoughts:

First, you have to understand from an admin point of view, we do not know everyone in the server when we roll in.
Second, if there is an admin that plays that server regularly, then the warns and kicks become effective because that said player knows that the admin will take further steps if the player comes back and is not attempting the objective.

For example, I normally play CSS. But I roll into TTT once in a while. Thus, I am not a regular or "daily" admin that admins that server. If you request in admin chat to ban someone for delaying, I can't because I don't know the facts or the circumstances that surround that. I would instead use the warn kick ban policy.

Hope this helps,
Cheers,
~Surge

Delaying isnt always what people describe it as. When people are actively walking around pursuing their objective, this isnt delay.Even if they unfortunetaly dodge each other.

Then secondly, people scream about delay when nothing happens for thirty seconds, there isnt neccessarily a set time for delay, but the admins use their discretion and expierence to determine if the round is being delayed, which often varies from what the regular players think.

And when people are delaying, this is definitly not an instant ban, and these players will be warned to pursue the round. And only if they continuesly delay/ do it for multiple rounds are they kicked and banned. Usually though it doesnt come to this. Mostly because a warning will do.

well most of the people here have summed it up pretty good meaning the admins so i will leave it at that

I am aware of what delay is, and that a lot of people, unfortunately, miss each other barely while moving around, but I am not talking about that. I am talking about the players that are acquainted with the rules and continuously delay. I see this so often which is why I think it should be punished more.

I thought about something similar before. If a traitor doesn't kill anyone for let's say a minute(doesn't have to be a minute) people are somehow alerted that they are a traitor. Or an admin should just slay the delayer. But yeah lot's of people who are AFK half the round then back and they delayed the game if they were a T.

the greatest solution for all AFK people tase them they are 75% a traitor i have 89% hit on traitors by doing that :D

+1 to the concept

Maybe not kicks and bans for delay, but an implied warning against it so admins are free to take immediate action instead of having to use the time being wasted to warn the player first. Would be way faster and easier to manage if admins had the green light to go ahead and spec anyone they see delaying (this would need certain guidelines, but would serve as a huge deterrent against delay more than likely) and I'm almost certain it would make a huge difference for the better. Also RyanT RyanT here are some similar topics/suggestions in the JB world regarding delay if you wish to check them out. All in all, delay is in fact a BIG problem atm, and it's poison for the servers currently experiencing it. For those who are saying that it's not a big deal or that it's "the pettiest of offenses" dys dys , I think you may need to take a closer look, because it really is a lot worse when you pay attention to just how much time gets wasted due to these delays. Considering the amount some people play (myself being full time right now because of vacation), these 1-2-3 minute delays all add up to probably what equates to hours and hours and hours of just sitting in spectate or playing on phone. We're here to play and have fun, and while it's impossible to please everyone, this is definitely a situation that can be handled quickly if enough of us take notice to it. Time is one of the most precious things in life, why are we letting other people waste it so needlessly when it can be prevented.

I agree with the concept, but yea pros and cons. I think our issue here isn't LG but delay as a whole. I've been thinking about this for a while now, and the rounds seem really long and drawn out mainly because people A. do it intentionally to troll, or B. Forget that LR is even happening. I noticed that some wardens make rounds take so long when they don't need to, and it's very annoying. Even more annoying when you have to sit there through 2-3 mins of some1s LR when they aren't even LR'ing, just lolly-gagging around the map while 20+ ppl sit and play on their phones. I think a much more effective solution would be to have more strict rule enforcement against delay, and maybe even create new rules to deter delay if we have to. For example, admins should be allowed to spec a LG (without warning them, should have an implied warning IMO) who knows that a group of 5 Ts are right around the corner, but decides to swing around the map to get the jump full sweat mode, adding an extra 2 mins to round. We should also be just as strict about camping during LG as we are on special days (do not stand in 1 area for more then 10 seconds or be moved to spec), and even more strict about camping out of sight for LG (this is super annoying on so many levels and we should crack down on it). During LR for Ts, give them an automatic LR menu that auto slays them if they don't pick 1 in like 10 seconds (can be enforced by admins if actual plugin doesn't allow for it). Those are just some of my ideas, let me know your thoughts.

Edit: I'm sure you were around @Jacko during the pg days where LR didn't have a separate clock, which encouraged the wardens to speed up the rounds because it was considered a good warden trait to leave the Ts with time to LR before the round was over. I know a separate clock got added because of new rules and complaints about lack of LR time, but I think there's got to be a better way to balance this. Maybe it would have been better, not to necessarily give LR it's own clock scaled to the amount of CTs, but just increase the overall round length slightly.

All in all, delay is always a pain issue when you're dealing with it and hopefully we can think up something good that lets us have more rounds in 1 map, because more rounds = more rebelling chances/more wardens/more just about anything that can happen in the craziness of JB.

My final thought on the matter: delay should be discouraged on the server as much as possible, and speeding up the round when you can should be encouraged.

I also care to hear your guy's thoughts on this @sopheyy @Jayy @Daddy Succ @Baefy @Sloths

Can confirm... in JB it's a major turn off when you get killed for something petty (toxic guards) then have to sit for literally 8 minutes doing nothing; although I do think most good wardens move the round along at a decent pace.

I agree, we need delay admins. Admins who have no sympathy for delayers and get them out of the game or get them to read the rules about delaying.
