I like Cashworks better than Goldrush by a longshot, but I'll choose a full server over one we have to seed to keep alive past 11pm. Watch the stats graph of the PL server some time -- when it switches to pl_cashworks past midnight, the server population tanks.

Cashworks is by far my favorite map, but since its still a beta map, people are getting low fps on it & then they leave or whine the entire time about lag, so while some of us enjoy, alot of pubs don't like it & w/o pubs our server die, so we gotta make them happy

Cashworks is my favorite map and I'd love for it to have its own server again.
Those are the best two maps anyway. ^_^ I've never actually played cashworks, but the screens look great. When I have my new machine I want to check it out. I really like the big vault at the end, it's a lot more original and cool than just falling into a hole like the other PL maps.
And I wish that Goldrush and Badwater had their own servers again, but times change. We have to stay current with the demands of the pubs, lest we fall behind and give up our "awesomest community" award to someone else who's more in tune with the desires of the pubnubs.
Personally, I think that cashworks is a fantastic map. Don't understand how somebody can not enjoy it. Actually, I heard that the next beta of the map is coming out soon = O.
Maybe we should add more user made maps to the pl rotation, perhaps then it won't go back and forth between badwater and goldrush.

I know this was a simple question that Squishy asked, and the Cashworks map is on the PL rotation server. Lets not have it turn into a "I miss Cashworks" thread.

The problem with cashworks is, as Jack Burton said... we can't keep it full. Goldrush and Badwater keep the server full, cashworks doesn't.
My beloved 24/7 Turbine server found the same fate; it didn't stay full consistantly, so it got used for a server that did. Now Turbine is part of the Valvemaps rotation. *shrugs* When I've gone too long without turbine I put it up on my gameservers server and invite all the coolest people I know to join me, and we have a grand ol' time.
Custom maps have three problem that Valve maps don't:
1) You have to wait for them to download, and
2) They don't have name recognition, and
3) 90% of them are mud pies.
In fact, the only breakout success custom map I really know of is Dragonhill's Blackmesa... but that server stays consistantly full
Unlike Cashworks.
So, again. Make your own server.* Run 24/7 cashworks. Invite all the coolest people you know to play. And then go all Atten over Payload Rotation and BUILD a community around Cashworks. And once the uppity ups see that Cashworks is where it's at... maybe we'll get a new 24/7. Worst case, Cashworks just consistantly kills the vote and you get a defacto 24/7
Now, you may be thinking... hey! $.49 a slot is pretty cheap... why don't we just buy a hundred of those instead of SoftLayer servers and have 24/7 maps of everything?
Gameservers servers give you little to no hardware control. Tickets take 24 hours to process, on a good day. FTP goes down and you're at the mercy of the gameservers staff. You're sharing a server with 100 other servers.
With SoftLayer, the uppity ups here have full control and good customer support, on top-notch hardware.
So, while Gameservers is OK for a personal server... it's not that hot for big heavily loaded clan servers... even though they'll say otherwise
* Also, don't make your server seem like it's an official eGO server, 'cause it ain't. It's your personal server. I installed Sourcemod on mine, and give full admin to any G or O who shows up, because I already know they're cool froods who really know where their towels are. But it's not an official eGO server, and I don't make it look that way

...actually I complain about it because I hate it!
also at this point complaining about cashworks is practically tradition, if I don't do it it just feels weird.

I have tried to play on the cashworks server for a couple days but the lag is so bad I had to get off. Anyone else have this prob? My latency at one point was below 20 and still had this incredible lag where my rockets would literally freeze in midair. I left server and joined a NoHeros one for comparison and I didn't have a spike. Therver was nearly full but I haven't had lag issues on full servers before. Thoughts on this?
It's the map. It has many other promblems also. I'm sure they will be worked out.
