No Modern Warefare 2 "Hardened Edition" for the PC?

Of course IW's releasing cooler crap for console gamers because most of the money is on console gaming. Pc gaming is constantly being repressed for console gaming. I personally became affected with it when DICE released bad company JUST for console. And now with the release date pushed on BF 1943 for PC. It's horrible.

THATS IT, I'M GOING DOWN TO ACTIVISION BLIZZARD AND KICKING SOMEONE'S ASS!

They have paladins acting as bodyguards.

Bring 24 friends and you might stand a chance.

BUT ON A REAL NOTE

All Infinity Ward did was halt the production of a special edition packaging filled with useless crap that you'll forget about in two weeks after buying.

Some of us do really enjoy those things though and like the $10-or-so investment into them. Now, were I to even have interest in MW2 I still wouldn't consider getting the NVG or anything; that's a whole different mess on its own. But I've gotten the special additions for a few games and really enjoyed the bonus art books/etc I recieve with them.

The last one IIRC I gnabbed was Fallout 3's special addition with the Vault-Boy Bobblehead and the lunchbox. To this day that lunchbox sits on the shelf next to my computer desk and I still give a quick "boom, headshot" flick to the bobblehead everytime I sit down. I peruse through the artbook every now and then, usually when I'm installing/downloading something, because the concept art was phenomenal in that one.

I'm not saying I care specifically about the Hardened edition or anything not being available for PC, but I think it's a bad process to deny something like that to someone who would pay for and enjoy it.

Hey guys just so you all understand about the price point of the special edition that got canned.

Did you notice how your now paying 59.99 for the PC game. The regular edtion. Yes PC. Not to get confused with the consoles cause that's the normal price for xb360 and PS3 games. Actually its quite the standard with big IPs. Well Activision knows that we wouldn't end up playing 59.99 for the regular edition when harden edition is 69.99 so for the extra stuff its some what worth paying the extra dough. So they were scared that they would have many regular editions left so they scraped the whole idea. Since there is only one version for PC games to go with they know they have guarantee sales because of only having option. Now people may think hey if they have two we win with both versions. Well us the PC gamers are not ones to fall victim to the brain washing marketing they use for PS3 and Xb360 games. Which brings another note that I have made on many posts about this game already. The 59.99 price the PS3 and Xb360 games are set at are due to the license fees the game has because its made for a proprietary tech. (Consoles). Now PCs are everywhere so yea they would make money by adding that fee but we do not wish to pay it so essentially all the games they made would not sell and they would take a hit. There might be a group of people in the few hundreds maybe even thousands but no where near the numbers they get of buyers when they still to the 49.99 price point. This by far is the reason I do not want to get the game. Not because I do not believe MW2 shall be a great game. I think infinity ward is a great developer who knows what they are doing in making a game. But Activision; I do not like them very much.

Time to rage.

Yeah, not buying this game anymore.

Honestly, I'm psyched about the game but it's just sad that IW is falling for the console scheme.

I want Prestige edition for the PC. Those Xbox Pansys better not be the only ones getting it.

all i know is that if i dont get modern warefare 2 i am gonna go on a killing rampage lol.

Lol you're late. We're not getting neither. Just plain old cod6

Well, I guess I know what game I'm not buying. I was prepared to give them $150. Oh well, I'll just buy something else.

Just noticed that...wtf.

Where the hell did the extra $10 come in. It's not like Activision/IW has to pay any licensing fees to publish on the PC. This is a trend that should not be allowed to start.

Why not just buy it off of Steam. It auto updates. No chance of it ever being backordered. No lines to wait in. I can see why IW did this. Most of the PC gamers are older and more mature than console gamers and most are not going to want the crappy NOD's that IW knows their giving away in the "Prestige Edition". And once you install it their is really no point in keeping the box. If you really want to see the pictures and boxart, give it 2 months and buy it off of eBay. I really dont see the value in Steel Box with CoD art on it and concept art in it. Im betting 2,500 Casino Cash that you will be able to see the ArtBook on youtube with in 1 Week.

All companies are out to make money. Thats the idea behind a business to make money and be successful. It doesn't matter to them how they make their money, just as long as they do make money. If that means trying to make PC gamers pay an extra $10 for a game that will be played online for years to come so be it. They saw how successful CoD4 was and they are capitalizing on it.

I do agree with you though on the fact that paying $10 extra even though it has no proprietary tech in it is kind of lame. The trend shouldn't start. But it will. Other Dev's and Publishers will see how successful Activision is after the first month and say "Damn, If they can do it, why not us?" Like it or not it will happen. People are going are still going to buy the game and feed the trend.
I'll still buy it, an extra $10 isn't that hard to cough up.
Im not trying to argue im just stating a fact.

Don't bite the hand that feed's you the world's best modern FPS.

Anyone else thinking this game is going to get pirated like crazy now by people outraged by the 10$ price? I for one don't want to see all companies doing this, 10$ is a lot for how many PC games I buy usually.

Pirates will make up a reason for anything, SPORE for the DRM, and this for the price..

So the only PC version that will be available will be the game itself? Thats a hard slap to the face IW. A very hard slap.
M82 shot in the face is better for them. No more head for IW.

You need credit card or paypal to buy games on Steam and some people (alot) don't have credit cards or paypal. Some credit card are not compatible with Steam. Call of Duty Classic is a big UP! for the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3.
