Why not just buy it off of Steam. It auto updates. No chance of it ever being backordered. No lines to wait in. I can see why IW did this. Most of the PC gamers are older and more mature than console gamers and most are not going to want the crappy NOD's that IW knows their giving away in the "Prestige Edition". And once you install it their is really no point in keeping the box. If you really want to see the pictures and boxart, give it 2 months and buy it off of eBay. I really dont see the value in Steel Box with CoD art on it and concept art in it. Im betting 2,500 Casino Cash that you will be able to see the ArtBook on youtube with in 1 Week.

All companies are out to make money. Thats the idea behind a business to make money and be successful. It doesn't matter to them how they make their money, just as long as they do make money. If that means trying to make PC gamers pay an extra $10 for a game that will be played online for years to come so be it. They saw how successful CoD4 was and they are capitalizing on it.
I do agree with you though on the fact that paying $10 extra even though it has no proprietary tech in it is kind of lame. The trend shouldn't start. But it will. Other Dev's and Publishers will see how successful Activision is after the first month and say "Damn, If they can do it, why not us?" Like it or not it will happen. People are going are still going to buy the game and feed the trend.
I'll still buy it, an extra $10 isn't that hard to cough up.
Im not trying to argue im just stating a fact.
Don't bite the hand that feed's you the world's best modern FPS.
