Phase One Website Updates

Unfortunately, the people responsible for these great new website graphics are also the ones who work on news posts. As such, please bear with me as I attempt to hobble together a news post on my own...

This new design is the first phase of a larger plan to overhaul the EdgeGamers website over the coming months. In this release, major website elements such as the header and footer got a facelift. Other updates include forum status icons, buttons, and rank tags. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more changes!


Please give a huge round of applause for the people responsible for bringing you these updates!

Thank you all for your kind words and PM's I received. Don't forget to thank Dominion, Kendle, and agent86 for all the "behind-the-scenes" work and implementation they do in regards to the technical aspect of things for the site and servers. Nurse is a very talented artist and I'd like to say a personal thank you to her as well. Rock on guys and gals and thanks again.

The logo changes I am neutral on, it isn't significantly better or worse, just different. I am a big fan of the sharper crisper edgegamers organization logo.

However with that said the sidebars are a horrible addition and take your focus away from the content in the middle. You have rounded corners for most of your page and the projections are an unsightly contrast. The rails as you have called them should be removed to give some whitespace for the rest of the website which would improve legibility.

I agree with this, the black riveted bars on the side actually start to give me a headache after a while from scrolling and are distracting from the actual site.
 
Looks good. Hopefully, the welcome template will get new buttons, it looks bad now. Maybe we can use the blue star.

If you're referring to the "Welcome back," bar, yes, it and its buttons will be redone, as will many other things. All in good time. However, I wouldn't say it looks "bad."

This is great! (I love the new logo too!) It looks like it has more power and shows people how smart we are :D
