There's obvisously nothing wrong with using 1 monitor - I personally have been using 2 to 4 monitors on 1 PC for a long time now. Just for clarification, I don't use it in 'Clone' mode - or all monitors have the same screen. I use 'Extended' mode - like a long desktop. Each monitor has it's own resolution, so things aren't stretched or fuzzy.

The advantages to a multi-monitor setup is that one can spread out. As I have posted before on this, I keep all of my contact info on 1 screen - I know where it is - not buried under several windows (which used to happen all-to-often with me).

Games - I do not extend the games onto several monitors, I use just 1 (and that is in windowed for faster switching).
Again, contacts (in whatever form) are still visible and accessable.

Big dis-advantage is it takes up alot of room, extra heat..etc.

Of course - bottom line - it's whatever you prefer. You like one? - use just one.

** I do have pix as well - but it's really no big deal **

Why WOULDN'T you just get another one? I'd wait until I could afford two of those.

I got my 19, then the 28, so now I'm waiting on the second 19. My gfx card only supports two monitors, so I'm waiting on purchasing a third until I get another/better gfx card. Also, you have to build the thing slowly to not upset the lady partner.

As far as multiple monitors being silly, I'm confused. I can open so many more windows with that setup. Also, you only game on one screen, leaving the other one for your other stuff. Maybe you listen to your own music, chat with people, or even surf the web in between deaths. Very nice to have it all going at once!

I have three total, My macbook pro is one, I have my apple display on a switch and its connected to both my pro and my macbook pro, then i have my 37" Tv which has a max resolution of 1680X1050.
My tv is also on a switch and is connected to both as well.
