hmm seems like the combos and rebates and such are just beginning to roll out for the new ATI 5 series cards.

That is a very good deal though, basically paying $20 for a 700w PSU by OCZ??? its not the highest end one or the best but it will definitely be sufficient for most if not all.

i have that psu, and i must say, its very good. no power-related problems (only BSoD'ing from under voltage of the cpu while overclocking. i know, noob mistake.) very reliable. only thing i would want to change is modular cabling.

Yea, i was gonna get an OCZ powersupply, the Fatal1ty one or the Gamexstream one but i ended up getting a Tuniq Ripper 1000w, couldn't pass it up lol.

Get a cheap CRT off craigslist, and go with this build, imo. It is much more up to date than the others you've posted.

I was just browsing that build and I read some of the reviews on the 500GB and some people said it didn't live up to the standards compared to the 640GB and 1TB versions. I looked at the 640GB one and it was $10 cheaper. Which one should I get?

for hdd who cares all you need to see is the rpm, gb/s and the GB amount - otherwise get the cheapest, so looking at those 2 get the 640

Ryken's build is epic for the price. It easily out performs both barebones kits you posted. The 5770 is an amazing card for the price, and the AMD Phenom II should last you a good long time. The AMD 6000+ in the barebones is old-tech, and as more and more games will start to require multicore processing, the dual core will begin to slow you down. That machine that Ryken suggested will CRUSH css and run tf2 maxed with very acceptable FPS. Go for it!

Get the cheaper 640 for sure! It is a shell shocker, so that deal won't last. It's a killer price, and makes the rig that much more of a bargain.

Just so you know, I'd jump on the 5770+OCZ PSU and that hard drive, right this second. Those are deals that are really hot, and won't last for long (maybe not even through this evening). Also, I think that the price on the case is a limited time too.

That's $5 less plus $25 MIR, $20 less on the hard drive, about $7 less for DVD drive.

That brings the total price to about $585 - $50 MIR, for a grand total of $535! Now if that system isn't worth $535, I don't know what is.
