This was posted in a different thread - but I'd like it to be more visible for all to read.

Since the houses have closed, we've tried to give everyone a chance for closure. That meant that we did not enforce the removal of house tags immediately following the removal of houses.

Since the houses closed nearly a year ago, there are almost as many members of eGO who have never known them, as there are members who were part of a house. I posted after the houses shut down that leadership would be directed to pay more attention to promoting people who did NOT wear house tags. Since then, it has become a standard thing to check when looking for possible promotees.

Here are things that we check when adding members to the promotion list:

1) MAUL verification (you have no idea how many potentials aren't verified)
2) Server Activity
3) MAUL history (demotions, Leadership notes)
4) Application date (as opposed to forum join date)
5) Forum Activity (2 posts in application thread = not active member)
6) Last visit to forum (Over a few weeks, and it's useless to promote)
7) In game name (Must match forum ID, no house tags, no inappropriate changes)
8) Vent Activity. (If you're never in Ventrilo, we do notice)

Simply put - we are trying our hardest to foster a unified eGO community. The houses served their purpose, but were causing strife within the community. Because of the "territorial" confrontations and cliques that were created by the houses, and the use of house tags, it seems only logical to promote members of the community who accept that houses no longer exist.

man its sad, people dont want to let the past go and still wears those old tags :(.

but perfectly said Fluffy, if you dont do that or not active there is no need to give you a promotion.

I agree with you! Fluffy when u see me in vent i would like to ask u a question involving me after reding ur post i think this is a good time to ask.

Well it's time for me to finally post in the forums again after all these 36 months of not doing so, I would like to add I agree with you.

i have a question, I really don't like going to vents and posting all over the forums, i mean, i just like to play the game on servers with mature people who don't swear and insult and mic spam all day, is it impossible to become admin without being on the forums?

impossible? No, but it will most certainly slow down the process. Gaining admin access is as much about server activity as it is about vent and forum activity. The emphasis seems to be more towards vent and game-server activity, so if you're going to stay away from the forums I would advise at the very least going into vent every now and then to say hi.

You'll see people gain promotions who aren't on vent or the forums very much but I promise you they're waiting, on average, a lot longer than those people who are active on both.

yet another question, who decides promotions, who reccommends people, how do you get reccomended for promo, is there a quota of vent log ins forum log ins, and ego server playing to become a admin?

1. Shouldn't ask to be promoted.
2. Play in all of the eGO servers.
3. Add people to friends lists and join up with them in games.
4. Chat in ventrilo to become noticed and become more social.
5. Earn you're title.
- Fallow the given rules
- Do not play as if you are above all the other players aside from eGO
- Just because you are an =(e)= you still need to enforce the rules as any eGO would to maintain peace throughout the servers. (If issues progress further, maintain a positive attitude, calm the situation, and fallow the guide lines of how it should be handled as listed in one of the forum topics).
- Show that you are a leader and can maintain a balance of maturity.
- Play to you're ablility.
- Complement others during games (Let them know so they can continue playing well and not feel as if they aren't doing enough to help out the team).
- Be active on forums (Create topics if any ideas pop up, help out those who are in need of a bit of help if they are unsure of something, and if you may not know the answer, help them in their search to find it.)
6. Give it time (If you are suited to be an admin they will let you know.)
7. Just continue to prove yourself (Better to earn it as a reward, not something just handed to you.)

Good Luck.
