hmmmmm im asking you guys if 4.0ghz will be attainable by an i7 940 24/7 stable with a Noctua NH-D14
As you may not, the i7 940 is C0 stepping which runs hotter and requires more voltage i believe than the D0 stepping. The D0 stepping of the 940 is of course the i7 950.
So heres the story:
My uncle may sell me his i7 940 setup with his mobo and all that and im willing to if he gives me a good price which hopefully he does. If i do get this, i wanna get 4.0ghz or even more on it, there are plenty of articles out there showing i7's being able to achieve 4.0ghz pretty easily and im hoping this i7 940 can do it also and run it 24/7 stable.
So, do you guys think an i7 940 @ 4.0ghz+ will be possible with a Noctua NH-D14 24/7 stable with reasonable temps?? (They say 70's C is fine for an i7 9xx load)
Also, im guessing voltages will be in the 1.4's and should be safe while 1.5 is a no no and will fry your CPU
so give me your opinions and tips.....need to boost my knowledge and get help making my decision

i have looked at some articles about it and it gives good cooling. Im sure it would give u temp. down to 40 idle and 60-70 load maybe
