One thing no multiplayer warfare game has ever taken into account is suppressing fire. I know it would be hard to do but if there was a way where it would force people to a crawl or make them not able to get past a certain area that would be really cool. Suppressing fire always has a lot to do with tactics and to find a way to really implement it into a game like this would be really cool.

Brothers In Arms multiplayer is all about suppression and flanking.

Of course suppressing fire works normally, but people arnt afraid to die b.c its a game and they have lots of lives. :/

MAG did a really good job with showing suppressing fire with indicators.

When you get hit in most FPS it has a red indicator to show where you were shot from.

MAG simply color coded it to allow for supressing fire.
It works like this:

Gray = Just shots being fired in the direction it indicates (mostly to help locate enemies)
Yellow = Shots being fired at you/near you
Red = Shots hitting you.

Most people duck n cover when they get yellow, so its a good system.

yea i always laugh at the guy with the mg when im sniping because on the game i play "insurgency" the mg has red/green tracer rounds so it makes him a extremely easy target because must guys just hold down the fire button without picking there shots because they think others are afraid to be shot lol i doubt mg suppression fire will be effect of this game due to the large size of the maps i currently only play single player mod and only find the use of the machine gun exciting when i want to act like im rambo! lol because i know how to snip with a mg
i think its a weapon that needs a lot of skill to handle but in the right hands im sure it will be effect as suppression fire against guys unlike my self who don't mine being shot lol

Suppressing fire often works at least fairly well, as a medic or on an MG I can pin guys down behind cover and they won't peek out of it for fear of death (if I already wounded them before they ducked down), that is until my clip runs dry and I have to wait an hour and a half for the reload :P
