Wow. what is this, the thread of negativity?
More of a friendly debate. We all have different opinions on films and are stating our points.

academy awards just like every other awards show is all the same type of crap, its all the newly/newer released things that get any credit and stuff actually from the beginning of the year regardless of how good it was is always left in the wind
Too many war movies , so when i heard its unique and original , it make me laugh...
I personally liked Hurt Locker because it was a different perspective on the military. Never really knew that's what they'd do in that perspective. It was informative and well produced. Glad it was nominated and or won. Something different then LOADS OF BLOOD.. loads of GUSHY MUSHY love stories.

I dont see whats the big deal over the Hurt Locker, why do people like it so much when obviously the other films were slightly better?
These ocars is kind of joke , made by US for the US . Enough said.
Oscars:
Shakespeare In Love beat Saving Private Ryan.
(never watched'em since)
I hate to admit it, but I rather liked Shakespeare in Love.
Its one of Joseph Fiennes better performances for sure.
Honestly, the oscars are all politics, last year Milk wins it because of the gay rights movement, now this.
The oscars are trying to justify the American occupation of Iraq.
I liked the movie, my dad didn't.
It was good, def not oscar worthy thou.
Also, how could Thompson die that far off from the blast at the beginning with that huge suit on?
That didn't make any sense!
Well first: While I do not feel that The Hurt Locker deserved best picture...I really doubt it had anything to do with a justification of anything. Unfortunately the Oscars were driven to a choice between Avatar and The Hurt Locker...and Avatar simply did not deserved best picture.
Second. The suit only protects the person from shrapnel. The pressure released from the bomb was enough to destroy his internal organs. The Suit doesn't protect someone from that.
