Hey guys. Just thought I put out an idea for a program:

The program will basically when first launched, scan for Source based games and maps, then will auto-start in the background when and Source based game is launched and check for updates on maps from the online database.

Just an idea. Please don't ask how I will do this, that's not what this is for, its for the idea. So, do you think it will be useful, or will it suck?

Thats not the point, it would be specific to maps and mapping. Some features other than download maps could be:

• Status of Map/Version of Map (Alpha, Beta, Version XX.X, Final)
• Support for Multiple Games
• Server Updating

Ya really what your looking for is already there in the software devlopment world.

SVN and CVS have been around for ages than there is GIT which is prolly the best solution which also has free project hosting if you publish under GNU and use http://gitorious.org/.
