Welp, I knew Tony Scott was coming eventually.

Story: "A man can be an artist... in anything, food, whatever. It depends on how good he is at it. Creasey's art is death. He's about to paint his masterpiece."
Review: Here's the thing: I really hate Tony Scott, the guys is a hack and makes films that usually lack any entertaining quality. He makes Micheal Bay's films look fresh and interesting. So it pains me to say this...Man on Fire isn't a complete disaster. What we have here is a plot of redemption and revenge in Mexico City, that is pretty entertaining. The acting is pretty good and the action is well set up. The directing is terrible and it feels like it was edited by some ADD ridden 5 year old.

lol, I've only just scratched the surface. If this thread goes on long enough it could easily become a reference guide.
Title: The Dogs of War

Director: John Irvin
Story: Walken is a merc who is hired to do a job that is a little too morally questionable.
Review: Other than having what is quite possibly the coolest movies poster of all time, this film is surprisingly super boring. It opens with a massive action scene and then the film drops down to a snails pace. There is a lot of brooding on behalf of Walken's character, mostly quite brooding. The film picks up a little near the end. All in all though it's just not really worth your time or energy.

Review: One of the all time great musicals, has massive musical numbers and brilliantly choreographed dance sequences. The film bravely tackles topics like racial discrimination and the refusal of assimilation of emigrants. It's well acted and well shot. West Side Story is an all around good movie.

I'll get to two good Terminators out of the way first before I tackle Terminator 3.

Review: This has aged a bit, but is still a highly effective Sci-fi/Horror film. It's kind of funny actually, Arnold's stiff acting comes in handy here. Well acted, directed, edited...everything is great, but has its slow bit here and there.

Review: One of the few Sequels that surpass the original in every way. This is just an amazing action film from the master of action, James Cameron. It also happens to have a plot that has an incredibly positive outlook on life, the future isn't set in stone...you can change yourself and the world around you for the better. I love the crap out of this film.

Story: Welcome to Mogadishu.
Review: Hey I just finished a Mark Bowden book, Guests of the Ayatollah, I recommend it. Oh, wait the review...right. Black Hawk Down is based on the Mark Bowden book of the same name and it's a true story to boot. Scott does a great job capturing the chaos of that day and subsequent night. It's an all around great war film.

Story: They made it for the money.
Review: Remember the much fawned over optimistic point of view on the future that T2 had? Do you? Well guess what...this film negates all that. That's right the future is set in stone and there is not a damn thing you can do about it, so screw you and your futile struggle. Anyway it has good action, but it's stripped of whatever made the previous two films profound and reduces the film to a big dumb action film. AHHHHHHHHH.

Seeing that this is the last of the Terminator films that I consider an actual Terminator film, I'm going to skip that other one...which I never bothered to watch.
