everytime i play a game about after 1 hour it crashes and in my prosses this is what happens GameoverlayUI this takes up all my CPU how do i fix it???

Uhh Well I dont know exactly, but it sounds like you should get more RAM, maybe Green Monkey will have a better answer

Its not RAM. It looks like other people have solved htis by turning down settings, by alt tabbing out and closing the overlay.exe and then continuing to play and even by forcing directx 8.1

What video card are you running and do you have any way to check your temperature upon a freeze? I am wondering since most people turned off their higher settings to solve it if it is just a result of your card overheating and finally failing at rendering. thus causing the process to be waiting for your card to respond but it wont render. Just a thought anyways.

You may want to search the steam forums, i havnt done that yet just some search engin stuff. First tink i thought befor eis earched was that it so[unded like card issue and overheating.

this is wierd... in my prosses...steam takes up all my CPU too...even when im not playing a game....i'll be watching tv then want to play and steam is taking up all my cpu i end it then my comp is fine

have you restarted to see if there is a stema update in a while? or any windows updates?

I;m not sure but it sounds liek steam might be correupted or something. You may think about reinstalling it.

This happens to me, Steam takes up 2 times my CPU on my windows vista computer, but alot less on my XP
