I am the scout mastah! Here are a few tips
I am the scout master.
here is the first vid i've ever made on scout: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hocGxFb6nLg"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hocGxFb6nLg[/ame]
here is my second vid i made awhile ago on highschool: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOJ5nm8pE0E"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOJ5nm8pE0E[/ame]
here are my tips.
1) sniping is all about flick shotting. if you can't flick shot you cannot snipe. flick shot means your crosshairs are not on the target but you know your sens/mouse enough that you can flick it in a direction with enough force for it to go to its intended target, and shoot. its quick aiming and sniping is all about being good at that which takes practice. you'll see lots of this in my vid.
2) scout is not an accurate weapon unless you're crouched. test it. aim against a wall even like 10 feet away, it has a pretty big spread....all the way down the hallway its pretty bad. so if you know you can get the shot/kill then crouch.
3) contrary to 2, do not crouch all the time, you're just too easy of a target. strafe left to right quickly. oh and scout is not accurate while moving, but it is accurate while skating. skating is the residual movement you have once you stop running in a given direction. test it. hold A then let go and you'll drift (skate) in the direction for a little bit further. Scout is just as accurate as normal while skating, awp is not. strafing quickly back and forth is basically continuously skating so you can shoot accurately while doing it yet be hard to hit.
4) aim for the head...ALWAYS. you quickly need to get in the habit of aiming for the head. you're not going to get many kills if you're aiming for the body. you won't always get a second shot. if you aim for the head and miss then die, you would have died just the same if you hit them in the chest once. plus if you miss their head lots of times you'll hit their chest. you'll probably be pretty bad at it at first, but the more you practice the smaller you'll miss by until you're pwning everybodies face all the time.
5) practice on deathmatch servers. nothing more frustrating then lining up a perfect scout shot or something just to get shot in the back and need to wait 1-2 mins until your next chance. get on death match it helps flick shotting a LOT especially since anybody can be anywhere in relation to you.
6) prefiring is good for normal weapons, not scout. scout you get one shot most of the time, obviously you're not going to prefire and hope you're lucky. what you want to do is preaim. again with practice you can know where somebody will be when they run past a corner. so by the time you notice them and pull the trigger they'll be in your crosshairs.
7) no scoping is a gimic, do not rely on it. sometimes its great if you just don't have any time and you're face to face with the guy, but its most inaccurate than scoping and you're just relying on pure luck (which usually doesn't work out). scope, flick to their face, kill them.
8) patience. don't freak out. wait until you're comfortable knowing you can flick to them and get the kill. the more you practice the shorter this time gets but its important. you're not helping yourself by rushing your shot then waiting for a reload, its better to take an extra half a second even if you take damage.
9) as you can see in my vids i double scope and basically ONLY double scope. the loss in vision is no problem since you should know to a good degree where your target is, and the more you zoom in the bigger your target. would it be easier aimiing for a period or an o? . o . o . o i dunno bout you but i'll pick the o any day, makes my life much easier.
10) positioning is very important as a scouter. you cannot run into a group of 3-4 and expect to come out alive like you could if you're just spraying an automatic. you need to position yourself so you can face each one, one at a time. usually this means poking out from corners, but you cannot do that too many times in a row the exact same way, they'll figure your pattern quickly and just line up the shot...so try to stay unpredictable too.
TLDR: im the scout master and if my tips are too long to read then add me on steam, message me on the forums and i can show you in game in a few minutes.
