Hmm interesting.... what makes this one different than bf2 or bc2 or most modern FPS games?

The game also won't be sold at any of the 49 GameStop stores located on various military bases. Troops will be allowed to own copies, but they would have to buy them off-base.

They have to go out of the base to get the game? If they really want it that bad, they can go off base to get it. I understand where the military is, exactly, on this topic.

"At the hands of the Taliban, children have lost fathers and wives have lost husbands," Fox said. "It's shocking that someone would think it acceptable to recreate the acts of the Taliban against British soldiers."

^ thats why

It's different from bf2 and bc2 because you arent fighting taliban, you're fighting either russians or iraq army (in bf2 if I remember correctly) But not only modern ones, I'm sure some German people feel bad that American game companies make hundreds of games about one bad time in their history over and over again, think about it.

Well since "Grand theft auto makes kids shoot up schools," says Hilary Clinton, it's just a game isn't very gamey.

The issue with the new Medal of Honor game is you'll be playing as the Taliban against the US military (and allies), which is an ongoing situation for the Military. They'll think it's detrimental to morale, and conducive to hostile behavior towards its forces. Other games differ because they aren't as current (or as widely-viewed on) as what the latest MoH game will be. Historical FPS can get away with fighting against the Germans, Koreans/Chinese, and Vietnamese from WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War. Some of the other games use current situations and problems in today's world to create a false futures (Modern Warfare is about a fake Middle Eastern country, with a fake issue involving Russia). It's about context when it comes to censorship, and having US/British Forces vs Afghanistan Taliban is too close to being true (because it is true) to avoid censorship by the military.

Soldiers who still want to play the game (because they know its a game, and hopefully a fun one at that) can still get the game by A) Going off base at their active duty station, B) Having friends/family send them a CARE package with it inside (or something similar), or C) Return from R&R with the game.
