Off the top of my head right now (will be adding to the thread) , what happened to the "Buy your own event" event?
I absolutely loved this. We had new creativity and flair and maps and games every single 2 weeks I think it was. I remember the last one I attended was a few months ago. It was Blebla and Bounty's event. I LOVED it. The map rotation the prizes, and the promotion/advertising if the event before that was awesome as well. There was competitive bidding wars on the forums and there was actually quite a bit of hype for it. Like, you log on FOR this event, not just log on because you're playing and there's an event that is happening.
Also, I miss FBG Sunday a lot. I wasn't there every week but I was there for quite a number of them. It was just mucking around, using a variety of guns, doing things you usually don't do with a bunch of cool people. No scope scouting with low grav, constantly jumping. Ahh, that was beautiful.
I would just like to add that I just think that the X-factor to any and every event is the co-ordinatior. It doesn't matter what event you are doing but there are just those that do it amazingly. Sense when a map is and isn't working, knowing when to change the map, how to organise the players, doing all this in a fun environment, an environment that is chaos but not quite chaos because of how the ECs are able to control the server... Friday nights with evilbears is the first one that springs to mind.
I'm not trying to slam any other ECs or whatever and I still love the events the new bunch are putting up, but god I loved those events hosted by evilbear where we basically just did whatever the hell he had in store for us.
