Well this has been brought to my attention, twice, by the same admin. Both times I shot and killed from here: (View) It is a really common spot for the wershcmahdemtent to rush and get a bunch of kills, and slow down the U.S. Now I very commonly play a sniper in Anzio, and the germans come up behind me and kill me all the time. Instead of rushing in and dying yet again, I check quickly from the spawn side as seen in the picture, and kill anyone I see. (Sorry about my inability to rush in and no-scope everything I see, I'm working on it.)

I'm just wondering if this is allowed or not, because this is the only person who has had an issue with me getting a kill from that spot. If it is not allowed, then admins should constantly be checking the german/U.S. spawn entrances, because people tend to stand there and take shots instead of running out all the way. (Especially when only one flag is left.) It's not as if I stand in that spot the entire match, I just take an extra five seconds to check before running in.

The admin was obviously doing his job, but I want to double check.

you can stand there all you want, but the enemy is allowed to shoot and nade into that part of spawn. the same goes for all the other entrances

I know you're not allowed to shoot into spawn, unless you're shot at from spawn, so thats how I admin it, if you shoot at me, Im shooting back.

i thought this was pretty clear

all I will say is, if you nade the spawn ramps and hurt or kill people who have just spawned, you run the risk of breaking the rule. Its generally a bad idea to nade spawn entrances unless there is a wall behind the ramp preventing the nades from going deep into spawn. for example, nading the axis first spawn ramp will get you kicked. nading the allies first flag spawn ramp will not.

Lol we had some eGO members (e's) yesterday yelling at us (admins) for "breaking the rules" and "spawncamping" on Ava.

We were in their cellar and the hallway to the Axis V-crack at the time of our "breaking the rules" and "spawncamping". lulz

props to loneB for a respectful and coherent post.

I'll be honest and say I was the one that questioned it (at least I did through admin chat to a higher ranking admin.) I understood the rule, but the only reason I questioned it is because, without nades it would almost be impossible for me to kill loneB in that particular position. He shoots, then ducks behind a wall to where I cannot follow.

That being said, the rule was clear to me, but not crystal clear obviously; it is now crystal clear to me!

(I really hope loneB was taking about me being the one questioning, otherwise there are two of us!)

And I agree with Wewo that this post is the 100% best way to operate! GJ loneB, see ys by your spawn in Anz!!!

huh? if you nade the ramp its not even close to where they spawn, waiting to see if theres someone on the ramp and letting them shoot you first is probably the most stupid rule ive heard of in dods, especially when mg's are so common on that ramp. isnt being "in the act of spawning" when your in the area you spawn (usually a fair distance from the ramps, especially on anzio) so i dont get how nading the ramps would break that rule... ever.

this thread has just confused me more, lets sort this out maybe? too many admins contradict each other in game and kick people for shooting people walking off ramps

The only one i have seen to get really harsh on is the bottom of allied spawn house. Upstairs is not friendly but acceptable by axis - they should not be downstairs. This is the only one i will give only one warning before kicking. As for the rest of the spawns on maps (that i play anyway!!) there is always another way out - even on anzio if allies have an mg set covering axis spawn ramp by axis first flag you can always go right and come out towards the central flag, get behind mg and punch/knife him (more satisfying that way!!) Or just lob grenades.. that is what they are there for and someone will get the mg!! :)

I will just take this part by part.

First, nading axis spawn ramp, nades do land on top of and around axis spawn points unless you prime them right or bounce them off the side walls, which is why i said you RISK the chance of breaking the rule. I did not say wait until someone shoots at you to shoot back.

If the enemy team is shooting at your team from their ramps, anything is fair game. I did not say make sure each individual is shooting at you, use some common sense.

go back and reread my posts, you did a poor job first time through. Also, please do not quote me without context on matters such as this.

when i say nading the spawn ramp i mean it, im being literal. what you mean is you run the risk of breaking the rule if you miss the spawn ramp and the nade goes behind, not if you nade the ramp itself.

the difference between being able to always shoot/nade spawn ramps/exits or only when shot at is too black and white for common sense in my opinion.
if i throw a nade on the ramp at axis first while going to cap out, even though i dont see anyone there yet and havnt been shot at am i breaking a rule?
according to some admins yes.

im just trying to get this cleared up.
i thought i understood it from this thread http://www.edgegamers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=144032

but obviously not :(

i dont believe I have contradicted what slayr said in any way. Not sure why you are so confused?

Im pretty sure you two are arguing for the same point in different words. You both agree that you can nade the ramp

Blue is saying if the grenade misses, and kills a player who has just spawned though, its against the rules

Brain said he nades the ramp, which I think he implied he cooks it so the odds of him nading the newly spawned are very low.
