We've got a problem, and this post is courtesy of Slayr357 and your DoD:S Division Leadership.
It seems that we as a group are having a very difficult time with handling team imbalances. A server does NOT have to be at an even number of players on both sides at all times. In Admin 101, we teach that you should only be admining if the difference in teams is greater than three. In a full server, a smaller difference will statistically even out very quickly and solve the problem by itself.
What does this mean? Don't make a big deal and ask for the teams to be fixed if the difference is 1, 2, or 3. It's overkill and annoying. Pubbers seem to be under the impression that a difference of 2 is a big problem; it's really not in the grand scheme of things. 3 is borderline; more than three is a problem and to be admined. As a reminder, we DO NOT EVER move players to even up teams, and that has always been the rule.
I know that some of you are wondering: "Why is he posting this in DoD General instead of the eG/eGO Private forums?" It's here because our e-level members have a role to play in this job too:
Want noticed? Be "that guy" that hops to the other side to even out teams. Spray mentioned that just today, he played in a 16v11 eGO server in DoD where there were three e's on the 16-man side that refused to switch. Yes, you might have a higher KDR from playing on a stacked side. Yes, you might get more points.
But I can GUARANTEE you that neither your points nor KDR will get you noticed in this community, unless you're on one of Ronpaul's elite teams. Even then, it's not going to get you a promotion. Step up and switch; enjoy the challenge. There's a reason Slayr357 has made a living punching his way through the Avalanche apartments; nobody else is willing to do the grunt work. This is the same type of thing, and it's something that admins should be used to doing. If everyone leaves the server because of an imbalance, you don't have anyone to play with.
TL;DR: Teams are officially "uneven" when the difference is greater than 3, and it's always been the rule. Never move people, and switch yourself to even them out, especially if you're an e-level member.
Common sense, right?
