Team Balances, Admining, and You

There is a reason Jeod is a DL, besides his by the letter rule following in CS:S jail. Its this, right here.

I've learnt not to say "Even out the teams" lately and have instead just jumped over myself if the teams are uneven. Makes for a easier evening then yelling out loads of time to even the teams out.

There you go! Don't Say It. Do It.

I can honestly say I used to be guilty of asking for swaps when it was two players, but have changed and will do so only at three or more.

I can contest that jeod is completely right about not worrying about points as much as attitude. I am completely a product of such an idea.

I also like many end up changing constantly to help even teams, but at the least that will end up making you a more versatile of a player.

What does this mean? Don't make a big deal and ask for the teams to be fixed if the difference is 1, 2, or 3. It's overkill and annoying. Pubbers seem to be under the impression that a difference of 2 is a big problem; it's really not in the grand scheme of things. 3 is borderline; more than three is a problem and to be admined. As a reminder, we DO NOT EVER move players to even up teams, and that has always been the rule.

I would like to take this one step further, and say that where possible, we should do our part to 'educate' the misled pubs and/or e/eG/eGO whenever they ask that teams be balanced.

99% of the time when an unwarranted request for team balancing is put forth, I notice that no one typically corrects the requester. That's aside from the smart-aleck "teams" -> "are fine" sequence, of course. If the request goes ignored, the requestor is just going to go away feeling frustrated and will persist in his/her (incorrect) belief that we don't adequately admin balanced teams.

So what I try to do is politely explain in some way that we don't take action on differences of 3 or less, and sometimes even throw in a "but your team is dominating us with less people anyway" joke (to put things in perspective) if appropriate.

Just my 2 cents'.

couldn't agree more i posted something similar a few mouths ago generally the way i handle it if teams are uneven by three or more i will ask for the teams to be even if they don't even out after a little while i will move over myself and or ask my fellow ego member to move over with me

i am sorry guys but i have to disagree. i play mostly with london avalanche at night wen nobody of you are online and sometimes its really sucks to be on the Ally side.

anzio tends to have this problem too, if the allies are losing badly over and over, the best thing to do if the team difference is only 1 or 2 is say something in all chat (not admin chat) like " anyone want to give us a hand?" but dont make it an admin issue
