So just got Css which is very fun btw, but does anyon have few tips for a nooby like me? i know i was making few people angry on dust because i didnt know how to disarm a bomb:blushing: or couldnt aim good.

press and hold e to defuse.

also, it takes a little while to get used to the recoil of the weapons
my advice, use the m4a1, or ak-47 and aim only for the head.

My advice is to play Office. It's much easier than Dust 2.

Begin with shooting small bursts with your weapons. When the enemy gets close you should spray (hold down the fire key).

Go into a random death match server and shoot players long range, its a lot easier once you know this to shoot up close...by the way RUSH!!!

First of all, the game mechanics work by reducing your accuracy if you are moving, so before you shoot STOP. Then identifiy the distance, if its long range let off small bursts with your weapon and maybe crouch down to get more accuracy. If its close range run around the target and aim at the chest, keep firing your weapon and recoil will push the bullets up to hit their head.

Just wanted to be clear, you can shoot threw stuff right? like doors, boxes, walls cause i got shot while behind a wall just didnt know if it was lag or what

Stick with the bom/defuse map style and hostage rescue stuff. You needa develop a bit of game sense before you move further.

High school is a very balanced map with a huge tactical side to it, you'll learn lots from that server. Whether it's different types of footsteps sounds or how you burst or spray depending on your distance (Shown by west hall and close quaters like T stairs).

Anyway, jump in high school. And once you think you've got the hang of things, move onto a deathmatch server for a while. You'll probably get some bad habits. But that'll give you more game time and let you practice your aim a bit more.

Then hop on jail and pick all the Ts off on their freeday (Don't actually do that, it was a joke)

Go for the AWP. Remember, the more you get called 'noob' the better you are doing. Also, remember to constantly complain about getting killed and keep claiming you will uninstall the game, but never actually stop playing.

1) If you're finding the online playing a bit difficult, practice offline by creating a server and adding some bots of the difficulty of your choice. This way, you can get practice against them before adventuring out to the online world.

2) Stick with a bomb/hostage map for starters. My suggestion would either be cs_office, or de_dust (both eGO servers). They're smaller maps, and allow you to get the hang of the game in no time. Also, neither map allow AWPs, which are the noobiest weapon ever, so don't use them.

3) If you feel like a fun/interesting challenge, you should me in the eGO Jailbreak server. This server lets you have a practice at knifing, and surprisingly helps you with aiming the guns (as you need to aim quick in this server). If you don't know what Jail is, you can find the rulebook here.

4) Other than those, a good server to play on would be a cs_crackhouse deathmatch server. Before I was in eGO, I played on those all the time. They're fast paced, fun, and give you eally good practice. You just have to not get annoyed by dying all the time. Unfortuanatly, eGO doesn't host a crackhouse dm server, but there are still some that are fun to play on.

That's just some tips about CS:S I can give you, regarding servers.
As for weapons, what everyone else said is true. You have to get used to the different types of recoil. Starting with an M4A1 (for CT) or AK47 (for T) are useful to start off with, but keep experiementing as you may find a new combo you like.

Secondary - Desert Eagle (or Deagle for short)

I wouldn't recommend playing against bots, nor would I recommend practicing in Jail. Neither of those will give you any sort of real practice, because bots are really stupid and jail isn't skill based much at all. Just join our highschool server as Wind recommended and once you get to know the map, you'll be fragging before you know it.

Jail is where I got most of my practice haha. xD But yeah, it isn't the best place if you want to have an amazing k/d ratio and rank, nor the perfect place to practice. Just a fun alternative away from regular games.

As for bots, yeah they can be stupid. But for brand new people to CS:S, it's good target practice.

I suppose you could argue bots are good target practice, but it just seems like a waste of time really seeing as CS:S isn't really stats based, you can play on servers with people just as bad if not worse than bots anyway

Lol use of only 2 weapons. Also, practicing on jail, I laugh hard at the thought.
Seriously, you should try using any weapon you feel comfortable with, not just ak/m4 all day. I've often heard newer players complain about how hard it is to get a kill with an ak. I just tell them to use a different weapon. Sure it is weaker than the ak, but more than likely you'll have more hits. THEN come back to the ak after you have some experience under you.

Now onto the Deagle. If you find yourself not being able to hit anything, try the P228 compact. It a bit weaker than the Deagle, but holds more ammo (13, not 7), fires more accurately at close range, and fun to shoot at running enemies at range. Watch them jump and hop around before they drop!

Now onto the kevlar + helmet......lolololol I'm just kidding, although I tend to realize the helmet is useless for me :facewall:

Anyway, hop on by the highschool server, and I'll show you a thing or two about the other weapons in the game!
