So whats your opinion on this? I think we should have a Democratic vote, with majority rules. Allowing all members to vote, just not advisors, Council , or the DL.

Leave it. Leadership hears our opinions and ideas and knows what we like and don't like in jail, hence the detailed rules, and big jail rule revision. Trust their judgment, they do everything they can to appease the people.

Just look at Hell's Gamers or even Steam Gamer's Jail servers. They have almost no games banned and among other things they are always PACKED no matter what day or hour. Pretend that we have no dropbox at the moment. Just a weekly thread on jail, open to public ideas to make it better. Then the following week, a vote is taken on making new rules, revising rules, or removing rules. In my mind, this may attract more people to the server and make it a major attraction to pubs, instead of having the majority of the server being members. We need to make it more appeasing to the new player and banning such and such games for unfairness to other Terrorist? Life's not fair and no one should try to make it. After all, it is the people who let us live.

We have a very very very different style compared to HG, and Steam Gamers. If you want to compare go play there servers. Otherwise theres no need to complain. Your free to share your opinions to leadership in the dropbox, but it wouldnt be best done in a public forum for everyone to see.

I am expressing my opinion for the betterment of the Edge Gamers Organization as a whole, with new members. If you wish, to decline this way, then I am alright, with this. I am just trying to help bring in more recruits, from the success of other servers. We are not the oldest and maybe not the biggest, but even this old dog can learn new tricks.

It's fine leave it... by the way if you don't like the jail rules you can always hit disconnect.

You do not understand. I am TRYING to help eGO, giving new ideas, letting other people smash ideas with each other to make our servers better for EVERYBODY. I am not protesting anything and this is just my opinion, comparing to others, not trying to put leadership down, since it is their job.

yeah im honestly not liking the banning of take it or leave it and russian roulette. cause on some maps that is a game to eliminate T's a quicker way especially since most maps don't have enough games on it.and everyone is too good at simon says. so idk. theres nothing to do now. except map games and pulling stuff out of our butts now

Some eGO's (with all due respect) behave like e's have no say on anything.

I agree on a general Jail Game voting.

I encourage the leadership work, because it is always the best, but there is absolutely nothing wrong about trying to have a word on something such as jail.

And that argument of "if you don't like it, leave" it is very inmature, one thing is to don't agree with someone, which is perfectly valid, and another is to say "this is how it is and it is how it is".

Leadership knows what to do. And if you think about, some games were banned to make it more fair for others. Such as first reaction and last reaction. Due to mic lag, our friends overseas won't have a fair chance.

Also take into consideration how much time and effort is put into the jail rules, probably more than any other part of eGO CS:S. Remember the extensive process of doing away with trivia? Leadership tries to do what's best for the majority of the people the majority of the time. Putting a magnifying glass over every decision will only do more harm than good.

First reaction jump!
*99% of team is lagging*
*terrorist 1 wins
*CTs kill the others*
*dead terrorists spam in chat "FREEKILLZ!"
I love my jail the way it it!

Leadership works hard, and the clan stays united to that. If you have a suggestion put it in the drop box. Posting it here publicly and rallying support against a leadership decision is disrespectful and undermines the hard work they do every day.

We are not a democracy, we are Edge Gamers. Leadership contains the most trusted members of the clan. E's do have a say, when they follow proper channels and drop box their suggestions, just like G's and O's do.

They will listen when you go through the proper channels (The dropbox). When you do something like this, yes your suggestion/complaint/argument should be and will be ignored.

Once again, I will say that this is not a rebellion. It is a idea to HELP Edge Gamers. Everything is fine where it is at, but we are mixing ideas on how to make things better. This is a general idea to get it started and the drop box is of no use then. I am not rallying support for anything and if you O's do feel this way, then close the thread and delete it.

I guess with a whole bunch of banned games now, we have to use our knowledge to create creative games.

Anyways, I think we should have votes for big changes but not little things...I completely understand what you mean Luke.

@seek - He's just giving his opinion about how the votes should be. He didn't complain about the gameplay of jail...so why would you tell him to dc?

I like how everyone who says leave it up to leadership, is leadership....lol. For the record I also voted leave it up to them, they are kind of like senators and represent the majority of the people they serve (us). If we had to vote on every single game and every rule it would take forever. This is the same as the system of government that the United States use, we do not vote on every single law, we elect leaders to do this, same as here.

Voted leave it to leadership, and locked. I don't have time to write up an essay right now on why we don't do this because I have to go to work. Use the dropbox for suggestions. Or use ventrilo.

And back from work. I understand where you are coming from in this thread, and I don't discourage discussion on the rules and policies regarding jail and other cs:s servers. Unfortunately, division discussion is not the proper forum for such talk. The jail rules (among other things) aren't a popularity contest, and we wish to remove as much emotion from them as possible. When we make major changes we carefully observe and discuss what would make the most sense for the greatest number of people while maintaining certain stipulations (fairness, ability to admin, appeal to recruits, game progress, eGO values, etc.). A salesperson can convinces you to buy anything (including ideas and concepts) and I consider many of my peers here in eGO to have extremely strong sales skills. Unfortunately, voting on jail rules would open it up to "special interests" and make the process impossibly complicated and emotional. Leadership is always thinking about how to grow and better the division, and we make changes that might not sit comfortably with or make us popular with all those we represent. Leadership welcomes feedback, and we have several avenues to approach us (pm, ventrilo, in game, dropbox). We solicit feedback openly, but we are ultimately accountable for the division and will continue to make the most prudent decisions we can with the feedback available to us.
