I think for the most part 1.6 is well dead so to speak, everyone that played 1.6 now has CS:S and since CS:S is better than 1.6 they play it more.

I must have been on hiatus for this 1.6 fad because the only thing I ever played was TFC and the original CS, of which I was in a clan with admin and got to make pretty colored messages and vote for knife rounds. Good times.

Except CS 1.6 has a lot of players that don't like Source. Actually, CS 1.6 has more players than CS:Source does (online at the moment).

So no, it's not dying. I run a CS 1.6 based gaming community on the side, and we have been going strong for years now and things are still picking up.

like source is still fun but i really dont enjoy it as much as 1.6, prob cuz i started playing source when it first came out and the mess up on the monster off set hitboxs and stuff like that killed it for me. making maps for source is easyer but i just cant get in to it like 1.6.

Well I guess its cause, most of people play more CSS then 1.6
But eGO does have server for fun even though there is no division for it, like minecraft(Not sure if they are still running)
So idk =P

it would be kinda fun to take that open fun server and like on a fri just have one of the original halflife games loaded on it like tfc richice dod and so on just let ppl play the good old games with ppl cuz some of those games no one plays but there still fun for a night here and there. i donno just an idea
