New BF3 Info (from Game Informer)

I'm only worried about two things with this...

1) The availability and capabilities of tools to help the servers with options such as killcam, hardcore, team balancing, etc.. at release.

You don't need server tools to configure the server. That's what the config files are for.

Have we forgotten that it takes more than a tool to run a server? Any server admin/manager should know the ins and outs of the server, and be able to change or fix anything without the use of a tool or control panel.

Still, having BF3CC available upon launch will depend on DICE. Even if DICE doesn't provide a tool, or a means for a tool, you can almost be guaranteed a tool or control panel within weeks, if not days, from the community.

Furthermore, I do not believe that the SDK or lack of modding tools is a make it or break it issue. I'd rather have a high quality game at launch with future patches with the SDK, rather than a crappy game that you have to mod to make work.

Honestly I just want this game to be amazing at launch. I could care less about mods. If BC2 can hold my attention for this long (partially because of all you guys) then an amazing BF3 will have me having trouble finding time for homework.

All I ask is that this game be amazing at launch with a fixed admining system (cough cough first person spectating and admin chat cough cough) and that my computer can run it on low graphics settings.

I sincerely hope that they make the award system what it was in BF2 where you couldn't just Gustav people all day and reach Level 50... that was one of the main reasons I despised Bad Company

Sounds like this is going to the the Windows 7 of the Franchise, with BC2 being Vista and BF2 being Win XP if you want to extend the analogy - Bad Company was to keep people interested while they were working on the real deal.

So excited :) I want that old BF2 feeling of pure ecstasy back

I hope they don't make the equipment unlocking like BC2. First 30 levels or so and you can get everything, then you have 20 levels of almost nothing.

please make another project reality mod :D

if you read the article about a sdk you will get your hopes dashed, they said that the new engine is too complex to be dumbed down easily, so they probably wont be releasing a sdk in any sense like in BF2, at least for a long time

It definitly makes me want to get ahold of a copy and try it out!
