im a beginner dj myself. my specialty is trance, but im learning how to spin other genres of music. easiest way to figure out if you like it is to download a free software package & play around with the controls & see if you like it. i would highly suggest that you get some tracks from various genres & make sure that the software has a bpm counter on it. 1 of our fellow ego mates made a mix using software called virtual dj. they have a free version that is available & will help you bpm the tracks so you can figure out where to set the tempo between tracks so they sound as close together as possible. just starter info right there.
