My future Gaming RiG

Hey fellas, Im all go for a new rig! This will be my first one and I would like to build an AMD gaming PC. I have been doing alot of research and I have an idea for what my new rig should be. My budget is around $900-1100 just for the PC, excluding the monitor, it can wait.

As I said this rig will be my first one, and I need your help picking parts.

Here is what I have chosen:

Looks good to me. Great deal on the 6970. If you can, you should hit quantity 2 on the G Skill for future proofing. Or just buy some later.

I like it, fine, don't know much about that particular motherboard, but its a good chipset and MSI, used to make great reliable boards, kinda lost track of them for a while so can't comment on this.

I'd go ahead and Grab a 1 TB Samsung f3 HD. Its only $54.99 w/ free shipping.
And yea, might as well, get 8 gigs of memory, it will never be cheaper than it is right now.

NO!

That board WILL NOT SURVIVE with an X6 in it. It is a fairly well documented flaw. (if you need more info, i can explain tomorrow, kinda late tonight)

I would highly suggest maybe going down to at 1055T, and then spending the extra $$$ on a decent board.

I mean, fires are cool and all, but i prefer for them not to be on my motherboard.

Also, there are much better options for power supplies.

Going to sound like a broken record here, but the True Power New 650w is a great option....

hmm ok, please do. I dont have much experience in this, I dont know what is compatible and such.. So please please make suggestions. :)

ok, I dont know what voltage regulators does specifically, im guessing its something related to power/electricity? How do I figure out if the voltage regulator is good enough for the cpu? I dont want anything getting fried, lol I dont think anyone does.

Voltage regulators convert the 12v voltage from the power supply into something that the cpu can actually use.

x6's are known to kill that board.

See my above post for some recommendations.

Headshot, why are you still hung up on the x6? Didn't we already discuss going core i5 2500k? Focus on finding a board for that :P

Hey guys, first off I would like to thank all of you especially huckleberry. I have totally changed my mind, and I will go intel, because I've had this core 2 duo for almost 3 years and I am very happy with it. Though intel can be quite expensive, I've learned that its a better bang for my buck. I will definately research, find good reviews and get a good motherboard made with quality. I will step down on the video card and maybe just get a GTX 560ti. Im diggin the twin Frozr, excellent customer reviews and such.

Anyways I might hit the stores after my school is done. My original plan was to get the parts one by one, however I find it best to wait and save up and buy everything at once since the parts will depreciate.

Please PM me with any suggestions
Thanks again guys
