Hello Fellow CSS Division Members,

I started this thread to uncover what is to me, a mystery. As many of you know, our dust server is much less populated than our other servers. Jail, dust2, highschool, they are all more popular than de_dust (dust1 if you will). My question to you as a division is why? Why is this so different? Is it the map difference (you dont like the map)? Are you drawn more to the other servers for other reasons? What could we suggest to help get the server started?

people have a lot more friends and acquaintances on the other servers. And unfortunately dust is a bad map.
As for helping it... idk man maybe more pop-ups on our other servers mentioning Dust? but hard to work with a bad map because people don't like it.

The server is fine, it usually fills up. The times you are checking the server and it is empty is probably not during prime hours.

If something else is more popular and will bring in more applications to the community than Dust does, then yes.

Yeah I usually see 20+ people on dust unless it's just late at night. And dust is a one sided map, you have to have good team strategy to be able to play it as a terrorist and unfortunately in a pub that's hard to accomplish. :thumbup:

Dust is definitely not ct sided at all. I love dust, and i'm always playing there. currenty there are 30+ people in the server as of right now.

I find it to boring and dull. Also hate walking on dust and don't like the sounds. Although I did love old scrim thing ( @_@ ) Server!! Come baaaack!!

eGO has changed since we had the zombie server. I hate the excuse that "we've already had one", the division is so big now that most people won't have been here when we had it. Times have changed.

I happen to love that server and I love dust. I've been there when there were 10 ppl and I've been there when it's completely full. It's still a lot of fun.

If you're having popularity issues, perhaps instead of having a 24/7 dust server, change it to rotate some of the old school maps. Obviously keep Dust2 out since there's a 24/7 one of those, but throw in office, italy, aztek, militia, assault, nuke, train... etc. That would attract more people IMO.

I want to point out that you ran Deathontwolegs out of his own thread. Thats just pathetic. I do believe this post was about the DUST server. Im pretty sure it wasn't about replacing it with other servers, trolling the original poster and the dust server itself, or just being an ass.

For all of your information - WE ARENT REPLACING DUST. Let me show you something from GameTracker: Highest (past month): 332nd. From that, the server rank is going up slowly. Every other map we brought up, every other mode we brought up, never cracked above 400. As well, it averages about 30+ people during prime time hours each and every day.

This thread was intended to help the Dust server, its pathetic and sad that you all turned it into something completely different, and trolled the original poster for creating it. Keep on topic - period.

All of our servers are rank 368 or above. This is an amazing accomplishment and something we haven't been able to do before

We always had trouble filling that last server (italy/zm/de_dust) but now we have finally broken through.

tbh dust really starting getting popular when i started to get on it everyday, and it usually flourishes with pubs, like other said i usually see a constant 25+ on during the day (today at 9:30 AM PST it was at 28) the server is doing very well, most of the time it has more people than jail or office!
trust me im the dust expert
