BF3 Flight Stick?

Pretty sure you can. I know some of the best pilots in Battlefield 2 used joysticks, so it'd only make sense to allow you to.
I believe I recall trying to use a joystick in BF2 as I wanted to get good at flying, and it worked out fine, but I just could never get the hang of it.

i mastered flying with a mouse and keyboard. i'm 1000x better in Project Reality and BF2 mainly because BC2 has terrible sensitivity for vehicles. For me the piloting in BC2 needs a flight stick. if they bring back the controls on BF3 with sens. then a flight stick won't be needed (as much)

Im pretty good with a mouse and keyboard, its all about getting a feel for the controls and working around them. My desk gets pretty crowded with additional joysticks etc. Im sure BF3 will allow integration of dual controls, I know many people who use joysticks for Heli's in BC2 already.

No, but really. Try to use an empty Heavy Metal server or such to practice. You'll know, I'm not the best pilot. I can fly, but I take risks. So...its really just a practice thing to get accustomed to the controls.
practice makes perfect. Do wat PBJ said. Go on an empty server fly around in the heli and get a feel for the controls. Learn wat to do and wat not to do. Thats how i learned.

This is what I have been using for years. Its around $30 just about anywhere and last I knew it was at Walmart also. It doesn't have all the fancy stuff some do but it is a good starter point.

The flying in BC2 is pointless to me. They were too heavy on infantry in BC2. i liked the style of BF2 where it was everything, vehicles and infantry.
I'm going to go ahead and get a flight stick. If you aren't saying that its needed you're saying its nice to have, so after I offload my PS3 I'll pick up one of these babies!

That looks a lot like what I have, except that mine is wireless.
I have the logitech extreme 3d pro, and have used it for years in flying il2 sturmovik. Its a great, realiable joystick for a cheap price. Saiteks just are too much for battlefield, and cost way too much money. I've blown through 3 of them two x52s and an evo, they all lost their center pretty fast.
Well went and hooked up my joystick (Logitech Freedom™ 2.4 Cordless Joystick), and hopped onto and empty Heavy Metal server. It didn't go that badly, however my yaw (twist) seems to be reversed, and I don't see any settings to correct it. It's so screwy when you want to aim slightly to the left and have to twist right... GRRRR
