Should we reset all eGO Player Statistics (HLStats)?

I've changed my mind on the topic. In the end, I'd rather see more players visit our servers in hopes that they'd upset our rankings if naught else but to provide some fun competition.

It's about the fun, and I think a frequent stats reset should serve as a reminder of this.

I say yes. Personally, might be best to keep archives of the previous stats and perhaps make them available, but a yearly reset would be pretty nice.

Would our all-time scores and playtime still be available for our viewing? If not, I'd be inclined to dissent.

I agree with these guys. I wouldn't personally mind a stat reset as long as I can look back at where I've been. It's not about rank so much as history or legacy

I've worked hard for years to be #9 on our TF2 servers. Absolutely no.

I know you've changed your mind and all, and I'm pretty sure you'd be at the top again pretty soon anyway

I personally don't care about my stats - you could reset it every week and I wouldn't even notice. But back when I first discovered eGO, I lived on the Dustbowl server, and this stats "reset" that codo mentioned killed it completely. Folks left and didn't come back, and the server never recovered.

I think this is the big question. We would gain people, and I think most people who care could gain their ranks back easily enough. But, it may be discouraging for some long-time players who care about their progress (they do exist), and cause them to stop playing. If this can be shown not to be an issue, I'd be all for it.

I have been playing Steam games for many years now. A full reset is nice to have once or twice a year. It removes players that no longer frequent the server.. banned individuals, etc.

A server reset will bring new people to our servers. It will also gives us and our pubs the fun of racing one another to the top of the list.

Im not going to bash anyone.. but, if you must base your game play on points, I believe you are missing the point of the games.

wouldnt it be more fun starting on a fresh race and having a chance to begin with?.. imo i'd say that would make it even more fun. everyone will be on equal rank and has to compete.. The hunger for more points, the hunger for being the number 1.. everyone will do their best and tryes so hard as possible, to get above each other.

Yes and thank you for reseting all of the stats! I thank you guys a lot! Also for the people that loved there old stats just take a picture of it and see if you can improve from what you last did!

Wouldn't harm to reset them quarterly or half yearly.
