Hardcore

its just feels more real to me and it dosen't awhile to kill someone, i am also a ninja in hardcore. Also i like the idea of checking your fire in HC, no triangles over allies head so it teaches people to check their targets.

Remember now, no bashing other modes, just comment on what you like about your mode, you can do honest comparisons to help explain your choice but refrain from huge exaggerations. :chair:

I would post what I like, but im pretty sure most of yall know which I like

Not bashing. Just trying out the largest font size there is...haha.

I also did click on the ':P' in the similies menu. No idea why it did not include that in the message.

Hardcore

Main reason is because you don't have to unload your entire mag into someone and killcam. Now i don't mind having normal mode with no killcam and hardcore health, played on a server like that and it was great.

People complain about "using a full clip on someone." Hardcore only reduces health by 40%, which I don't see as a large difference. A bullet does somewhere between 10-30% damage, which is not altered by gamemode. What's the argument? I can agree to an extent, but not too far.

I don't understand the "because that's how the game was meant to be played" argument for normal mode. So the developers want me to shoot a guy five times only for him to walk behind a wall and regenerate health? Or have a floating orange triangle over my head while the enemy team shoots blindly at it? Or fire a rocket at a tank and have it magically repair itself over time? Normal mode is not only less realistic than Hardcore but it is also less balanced. Weapons like the AN-94 and the Semi-automatic Snipers are almost unusably weak where as they have their niche in hardcore game types. Vehicle camera views make flying simple as your fov is vastly increased and C4 attempts are easily countered. Forty percent less health makes a significant difference in game play because you have less time to react before you're dead. In my mind this encourages more tactical play.

1. No opinion

2. I would prefer normal over hardcore any day. But if we ever change any server settings than that's where I have no opinion.

3. I haven't played BF3 for awhile and I won't till the next update. World of Tanks is where I am currently and I'll stay till the update.

Oh, I wasn't pointing fingers, just saying before things get to far which they can. I wasn't even considering your post into that anyways :sneaky2:

I'm liking the numbers so far, seems pretty even. Help spread the word to some of the guys who don't frequent the forums much, I want to see them opinions!

Because before the Bad Company series what we call normal was the only setting for BF2142 and BF2 and all the Battlefield games before this. With the Bad Company series DICE/EA brought in the two modes. In BC2 normal was terribly balanced so the vast majority of everyone played HC. With BF3 the normal mode has been tweaked a bit and correct me if I am wrong but the only real difference between BF2 and BF3 normal mode is the regenerating vehicle health. So that is where the "It was meant to be played this way" comes from, the die-hard Battlefield fans who have played since BF2 and BF2142 and possibly even earlier than that.

1. Hardcore!

2. Because it doesn't take half a magazine of ammunition to kill someone and there are no floating markers above my head

You can kill someone with half a magazine in normal? You are a god among men.

Hardcore all day long.

Normal, because its the way the game was designed to be played.

This.

1. Normal

2a. I used to play Normal on BC2, and yeah, it took probably too many bullets to kill people, but I loved it. Until I joined eGO, I never played HC. Then I joined, and for the last 3 months of BC2, HC was all I played, and I loved it. However, in BF3, I think most of the damage issues have been fixed to the point where it feels realistic without feeling unfair. HC to me feels too unfair and leads to rage.

2b. My second reason for prefering normal is, like others have said, I think it is the way the game is meant to be played. It has all the elements in it. I think that restricting certain gameplay elements detracts from the gameplay, rather than adds to it. I like spotting, I like my map, I like seeing my bullets and health, etc.

However, I will say that the only time I find HC preferable is in the case of regenerative vehicles. Vehicles are big pieces of metal and equipment, not humans. They don't heal/fix themselves.

...that is where the "It was meant to be played this way" comes from, the die-hard Battlefield fans who have played since BF2 and BF2142 and possibly even earlier than that.
This is actually a very good explaination of why I prefer normal. I've been playing BF since 1942, and HC seems to me like it is taking away from the traditional BF experience. Yeah, we didn't have regenerating health, but the gameplay also wasn't nearly as quick and intense as BF3 is. You used to actually have a chance to get away from the combat and find a medic.

This would be relevant if team work was enforced in the game. If I had a dime for every time people used team work in this game besides the random squad spawning I would have..........0 dimes. Like I said in my previous post bf3 = cod with vehicles.

^^^^This

The only reason this game is enjoyable is because of playing with you guys and my RL friend. :thumbup1:

In my mind and my eyes... this encourages more camping. :P

Normal

I almost always play infantry and I prefer Normal over Hardcore. I can see why vehicle boys might want hardcore though. Vehicles are more deadlier and most importantly there's no "spotted tag". I kinda dislike playing in server where vehicles can't be spotted.

Again as an infantry, I run and gun. This style is preferred in normal mode. You do not need to run and gun in hardcore. Hell just pick a window, shoot few bullets, and enemies fall like flies. You don't need no suppressor. In normal, camping in same spot is like a death wish since you can be spotted (and there might even be a kill cam). On top of that, if enemies get a drop on you, you still have a fighting chance (thanks to 100% health). In hardcore, people just die too fast for my liking.

P.S. 100% is better than 60%. it's MATH!

My thoughts exactly. 1942 was simple and years of fun.

The only thing I dislike about normal mode is spotting. It's a great idea, it just needs more complexity to add realism.

Hardcore is much more prone to snipers/campers. 1 shot kills make it an extremely overpowered class. Which is great if you are a sniper, but it gets frustrating. Limiting the recon class to 2-3 would make sense, but that leads to frustrated players that want to play recon and nothing else.

Another reason I like normal, you have to know how to aim to be good at any of the classes. Headshots are very easy to get and bring enemies down just as fast as hardcore.
